I smile as I carry a box down the long hall, getting back to Laurie's dorm.
"There... That's the last box." I say as I put the box near the rest. Laurie sighs as she looks around the room. "You're going to be fine, baby."
"I know... It's just, this is my first time living on my own. I'm going to miss you..." She says as a tear falls down her cheek.
"I'll miss you, too. And I promise not to turn your bedroom into a gym or something." Lauren smiles and hugs me. "Hey... How about we go get lunch. I saw a sandwich shop down the road." Laurie smiles as we start to walk out the car. We got in and drove down the road. When we entered, Laurie got a pastrami sandwich and I got a corned beef.
"I love you, dad."
"I know." Laurie laughs.

I sit in my car and cry. My baby girl is in college. She's going to school to become a pediatrician. I'm so proud of her, she's worked so hard to get where she is.
I look at my phone as it starts to ring. It's Sarah.
"Hello?" I sniffed.
"Have you been crying?"
"Yeah, I already miss her." Sarah cooed.
"Awe, I know. Just, come home. I'll make dinner, we'll watch a movie and cuddle." I smiled.
"That sounds wonderful. I'll be home in an hour." I hang up and go back to crying. I am going to miss having my baby girl around.

Sarah and I laid on the couch, watching Duck Tales.
"Laurie is going to be fine, you know that, right?" Sarah asked as she patted my hair.
"I know." I breathed, "My dad scenes kick in too much." Sarah laughed.
"Don't overthink it. If you overthink it, you'll keep yourself up at night."
"She is going to shine in college. I hope she makes tons of friends." I say.
"The good thing is that you don't have to worry about her getting pregnant! You'll just have to worry about bitches that are the devil." I laugh.
"I would rather bitches than assholes!"
