Laurie played in her bouncer as I tidied the house before my parents got home. I watch Laurie as she babbles away. She is adorable.

I stop and actually listen to what she's saying. It sounds really close to her saying dada. I drop my sponge and run to her.

"C'mon babygirl, say Dada!" She looked at me and giggled.

"Da.." My eyes start to get big. "Da.." I quickly pick Lauren up.

"Your first word!  Baby I'm so proud of you!" I spin her around and kiss her on the cheek. "Okay next word.. Saay fuck! Wait no, that's bad parenting.." My mom walked through the front door.

"Mom! Laurie said her first word!" Mom smiled.

"That's great, Bren! That just means she's growing up!" I look back at Laurie. Her hair is just starting to come in. Considering she had absolutely no hair when she was born its a miracle. It's coming in almost black, so I'm assuming she has my hair color. Her mom's is pretty well blonde. "I bought more formula for Laurie, just to save you a trip. It was on sale!"

"Thanks, mom." I bounced Laurie around the room, then to the window.  It was a nice sunny day, and there's a park just down the road.  "Hey mom? Are there baby swings at that park near here?"

"Yes there is! I used to take you kids there all the time. Are you thinking of bringing Laurie?"

"Yeah, it's nice weather, why not?" I start to get Laurie ready for the park. I put a cute hat on her, and double check her diaper is dry. I put Laurie into her stroller then crap a few extra diapers just in case. Before we know it, we're off. Laurie played with the things dangling from the sun protector, and I sung. She loves my singing. It calms her down a lot. I think that it might only be because I'm her dad but she loves it.

We get to the park, and the only an older couple are there. They're maybe in their eighties, no less or no more. I shyly smile at them, walking towards the swings, that are close to the couple.

"What a nice thing to do for your little sister, bringing her to the park!" The lady said to me. She seemed really nice, almost too nice.

"Oh, she's not my sister, she's my daughter!" I say as I put Laurie into the swing?

"How old are you, young man?" The man asked.

"I'm sixteen, will be seventeen next April."

"You're just a child yourself.. What's your daughter's name?"

"Her name is Lauren!"

"What a beautiful name!" The woman smiled. "Well, Henry, I think we better go. The Casino you love opened about fifteen minutes ago.. You two have a wonderful day!" I wave goodbye.
