Chapter 8:
On Wednesday, Jake, Ava, and I went back to school. Ava was worried to go in, but I confirmed that she was not showing yet and nobody knew.
I went to first hour, history, and Holli, Marissa, and Kate were whispering. I came up and asked what they were talking about. "What are you guys talking about?" They ignored me. "Hello? Your best friend, Bea, here! The one who can make you or break you."
Kate turned around with a shy look. I knew she would turn for that. Kate truly liked me, but as for Holli and Marissa, I wasn't sure if they actually liked me. They might just be in it for the popularity.
"Why are you ignoring me?" I asked, well, slightly demanded.
"Jake?" Holli simply asked.
"What about him?"
"You two. What's up with that?" She replied, annoyed.
Jake walked over then. I was thinking about telling them we weren't together, to save my popularity, but I realized he was too good for that. He walked over like nothing had happened yesterday.
I proudly slung my arm over his left shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Marissa screamed.
Jake looked at me, saying with his eyes, You can tell her it's a joke.
"I'm hugging my boyfriend. It's a normal thing to do." I said.
Marissa gave me a wild look before walking away. Holli got up, looking disappointed. Kate stayed in her seat, but didn't look at me. Great. This was going to be a good day.

I walked to lunch with my lunch bag in one had and my Revlon lipstick in the other. I looked around for an open seat, but couldn't find one. What am I thinking? I was queen bee. I win, they lose. I sat down at my normal table, with the normal people. Jake walked over and sat down next to me.
"Um, Bea, what are you doing?" Kate whispered in my ear.
"I'm eating lunch." I said sarcastically.
"I mean, with Jake."
"He is sitting at this table for lunch. I choose who sits here, and you know that Kate." I replied. "Did Marissa send you over here?"
"Yes. I'm completely fine with you dating Jake or whatever but they aren't, apparently."
"Tell Marissa that if she isn't okay with Jake sitting here, then she can find a new table. Same with Holli."
It looked like dating Jake was going to be harder than it seemed.
