Chapter 16

Chapter 16:

Finally. It was the end of the day. And it was Friday. It was the weekend! Jake was leaning against my locker, like always, when I walked up. "There is supposed to be an awesome beach party tonight. We should go." He said while looking at his phone.

"Ummm, I don't know." I replied, worrying about everything.

"Come on, you know you want to swim with me." He said with a wink.

I gave him a little smile. "Alright, but you have to give me some time to get ready. I still don't know though."

"You only have to stay one hour."

"Fine." We fist bumped, and for a brief moment, I forgot about all that was going on in my life.

Jake took me home and I ran inside. Nobody was at my house. I went into my room and then remembered everything. I started crying, and a couple minutes later, Jake walked in. "Bea, you forgot your phone in the-" He saw me and stopped. "Babe, is everything okay?"

"No." I whispered.

"It's okay. There's nothing to worry about. Ava will be okay, and you got to say goodbye to your mom. Her funeral is in a couple of days, and everything will be alright. If you are worrying about your weight or whatever, let me tell you that you look great."

I looked at him with my eyebrows up, implying that I was concerned. "I- It's just that I don't have any swimsuits."

"I'll call Elise." I gave him a little nod.

A few minutes later Elise and Alex showed up at my house. Alex and Jake went off to talk about some video game they were playing. Elise came up to my room with her big collection of swimsuits. We would each take one and try it on. Then we would come out and observe each other and decide if you liked the swimsuit or not. At one point, we came out wearing the exact same swimsuit, just in different colors. We both agreed that we should wear those swimsuits.

We all got in my car and I drove us to the beach party. We showed up and a couple freshmans put lays around our necks. We swam in the ocean and ran around for a while. The Florida coast was a lot of fun to live on. At around midnight, Alex, Elise, Jake, and I got back in my car and drove home. We decided to stay at Alex's house that night, since it was so big and his parents were really lenient.

Alex and Elise ran in, laughing about something. They fell on the couch and started stripping down. Jake and I decided to run upstairs before we really saw anything. We found an empty room and went in, closing the door behind us. We started kissing, and I forgot about everything else. Jake brought us to the bed and laid down. I sat on his lap, facing him. I pulled his shirt off, and he threw it to the ground. I had changed back at the beach when it got too cold, so I wasn't in my swimsuit. He pulled off my shirt and shorts.

Although he had seen me in a bikini before, he had never seen me in my bra or underwear before. For a second, everything stopped. He held my waist and I put my arms around his neck. He undid my bra, and I didn't stop him.
