Chapter 9

The entire week Holli and Marissa have been ignoring me. They even found a new table to sit at and have formed another 'group'. This is so stupid. One guy and they ignore me and switch tables! They can have fun with that. My subconscious adds. At least today is Friday.

Ever since Jake and I have become an official couple girls stare at me with jealousy. The boys, on the other hand, are always drooling when I walk by. I think it bothers Jake. It is funny to see him get so worked up.

Since it is time to go to lunch I stroll over to my locker and start to put in my combination. I feel a pain shoot strait up my back and I whip around to see Holli, Marissa and their new dumb little 'friends'.

"Oops, my bad." says Marissa with a giggle.

"Whatever" I reply and turn back to my locker.

Don't let them get to you Bea. They just want to see you react. Don't do it. Don't react.

My locker slams shut and I see the four of them walking off giggling. Ugh. Who do they think they are? I open my locker, for the second time, and slide in all of my books from math. Then I make my way down the hall way to go to the cafeteria. I spot Kate along the way and walk over to her.

"Hey Kate!"

"Um, hey Bea..."

"You okay?"

"Yeah. I just um, uhh, I-"

"Oh I get it!" I interrupt "You can't be friends with the girl who is dating Jake, right?"

"Yeah..."

"Alright, well go then go have fun with your 'real friends.'" I say sarcastically.

She opens her mouth to speak but before any words fall out I stomp past her and into the lunch room. I spot Jake sitting at a table with two boys. The first day of school I saw them with Jake but I never knew who they were. Maybe they switched schools with him? Only one way to find out. I slide past all of the people in the lunch room until I find Jake. He pats the seat next to him and I plop down into it. I glance at his friends and see that they both are pretty attractive. One has spiked up dirty blonde hair and green eyes. The other guy has short light brown hair and dark brown eyes.

"Hey, I'm Alex, and this is Nick." He points to the brown eyed boy scarfing down a sandwich.

"Hey. I'm Bea." I reply shyly. I glance at Jake who is smiling at me. Lunch goes by quite quickly, same with the rest of the day.

I put my books in my locker when Jake walks up. I smile up at him and he mimicks me. I giggle and feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.

Mom: Dad and I will be gone until Wednesday on a buisness trip. You're in charge, make sure Ava dosen't get into more trouble.

Me: Alright, see you Wednesday.

I look up at Jake who is smirking. This can not be good.
