Depression Is Getting The Best Of Him

Chapter 20-

**Caden’s POV**

I looked down and saw a mother carrying her child in her arms and trying to get past the infected without being noticed. Her baby started crying and this got their attention. She started running but she didn’t get far before some infected woman grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her hair and biting the hell out of her neck. She dropped her baby and the rest of the infected started to feed from the little baby.

“Holy fuck” Josh said. And he kept repeating it.

“What?” I asked getting worried. “You okay?”.

“No” He said. I saw that tears were coming out of his eyes.

“Tell me what the hell is wrong with you” I said.

“That was my fiancé and my baby” He said.

This took me by surprise. I didn’t know what to say.  Poor man just watched his family get killed right in front of him.

He didn’t look down again and just turned to look at me. “Let’s find Mike” He said.

“No, go rest, I’ll look for him” I said.

“I’m fine!” He said. “Let’s look for him”.

I decided not to say anything. I didn’t have words anyhow.

We went around the corner and Mike was there, under the pipes and his head bleeding.

“He seriously needs to stop” I said. Kneeling down trying to get his stupid ass up.

“I’ll talk to him whenever he wakes up” Josh said.

I looked over at him. Why would Josh want to talk to him? And about what?.

We carried Mike downstairs to Amanda so she could clean him up.

“What happened to him?” Amanda asked us.

“I accidently opened the door and hit him” Josh lied.

“Well, you have to be more careful” She said, grabbing the alcohol. Yeah, she’s one to talk.

“Yeah, I guess” Josh said.

Amanda finished cleaning him up and we left him on the couch. Amanda decided to put some bandages around his head, so it would stop the bleeding. It looked as if he had a golf ball on his forehead.

“Ohh, my head” We heard Mike say.

I looked over at him and he was looking around.

“Where am I? He said.
