Chapter 12

No one's POV

"UGH!" Laura groaned, trying to reach a shelf on the kitchen, not being able to do it at all "What the hell?!" She tried to jump, but it wasn't easy when she was 7 months pregnant.

Laura went to the this-is-so-sad mood to the I'm-gonna-chop-your-head-off mood, and it was somehow killing Ross. He had to watch her, deal with her mood swings all day and he was beyond tired.

Plus the fact that he agreed to play in that concert the following month wasn't helping at all.

It was something Laura had decided for him, something she thought he needed. And it turned out she was right, he needed some space.

But Ross was scared as fuck.

"What's wrong now?" He walked into the kitchen, bags under his eyes. He saw Laura jumping up and down trying to reach a shelf and he couldn't help but think it was adorable, despite it was horrible for her.

"I can't reach this fucking shelf, that's what's wrong!" Laura yelled and Ross immediately went over to her and reached whatever she was trying to get.

"Now calm down" he put both hands on both of her shoulders "You have what you wanted, now let's go to the living room"

"Ross, I don't want to move" she said, tears coming out from her eyes. He rolled his eyes and picked her up bridal style. She rested her head on his chest.

"Where are you taking me?" She asked with her eyes closed, when she felt Ross was going upstairs.

"To bed" he said "You're making me really tired, like actually I don't know how I'm carrying you because I feel like I'm about to pass out, so now we are both going to sleep"

"But I don't want to sleep" she mumbled "Sleeping is boring"

Ross decided to ignore her and put her on the bed, covering her petite body with some blankets, and then lying himself down next to her.

He put a hand on her stomach and rubbed it slowly.

"I want this baby out" she whispered and Ross looked at her and saw she was crying "I don't want this enormous belly anymore"

He removed his hand from her stomach and hugged her with both arms, moving her closer to him "It's fine" he said "Just 3 months to go"

She nodded and buried her face on his chest, suddenly feeling scared because she didn't want to give birth.

"I don't want to give birth" she suddenly said "Can't I just...have it somehow else?"

"No, Laura, you can't" he said firmly, rubbing her back. He knew he couldn't get sensitive when it came to her mood swings, that would just make it worse "I'll be there with you"

"Promise?" He heard her voice cracking a little.

"Promise" he repeated and kissed the top of her head.

"And what if something goes wrong?" She asked after some minutes. Ross couldn't help but feel concerned.

"Nothing will go wrong" he assured her, although he didn't really know "I'll be there by your side the whole time"

Suddenly, Ross' phone went off and he picked it up from the floor and saw he had a message from Rydel. He read it carefully, then looked at Laura, who was looking at him.

"I'm not crazy or anything" she said out of nowhere "I'm sorry I'm acting like this"

"It's not your fault" Ross sat down and played with her curls, making her more relaxed "You can't control it"

Laura nodded and kissed Ross fully on the lips, leaving them breathless. She smirked and then looked at his phone "Who was it?"

"It was a text from Rydel" he said "She wanted to meet us at my parents' today for a family dinner, I don't know what to think"

"It's probably nothing" Laura put her arm on her forehead and closed her eyes. Ross stared at her for a while, smiling, then he put a blanket over her.

"Get some rest" he kissed her temple and then her stomach before leaving for a run.

That concert was still bothering him.

Ross and Laura knocked at his parents' door at about 7pm, seeing everyone's cars already parked on the street.

Stormie opened the door for them and gave each one a big hug, being careful to not hurt Laura. Then they went to the living room, where everyone was apparently having a good time.

Ryland was chatting to Brandon and his girlfriend, while Savannah was hanging out with Diana, Joshua and almost everybody else in the couch.

"Aw, look at him!" Laura exclaimed as she stretched her arms out to hold Joshua. Diana happily gave him to her and Laura held him as good as she could.

"He's grown up so much" Ross commented.

"He's turning one next month" Riker said proudly "But yeah man, he's pretty big now"

"No doubt he's a Lynch" Rocky said and everyone laughed. Of course he was a Lynch, he was gonna be extremely tall.

The rest of the evening went good. The chatted lively for almost an hour, then it was Joshua's bedtime so everyone needed to be quieter than usual not to wake him up.

"So how's pregnancy, Laura?" Mark asked her once they sat down on the table to have dinner.

"Not so bad" she answered "Id say the mood swings are the worst part of it"

"Tell me about it" Ross said and Laura smacked his arm, causing everyone else to laugh.

"So it doesn't hurt or anything?" Rydel suddenly asked, sounding more interested than usual.

Ross saw his sister and Ratliff sharing a look but he decided to ignore it. It was probably nothing.

"The first weeks it does" she told her friend "but now it's more the emotional stuff than the physical, if you know what I mean"

Rydel nodded and swallowed a piece of chicken.

"I remember" Diana spoke up "when I was pregnant, the last month was the worst. Because you know, you don't know when the baby is gonna born and I was just really scared"

Laura nodded "I am scared"

Diana gave her a warm smile "It's gonna be alright"

Laura smiled back at her and then she looked down at her plate "As much as I love this food, I can't eat a piece more"

"That's fine, sweetie" Stormie assured her, understanding.

Then Rydel stood up, followed by a slightly intimidated Ratliff. Everyone looked at them, confused, not knowing why they were acting like that.

Rydel cleared her throat "Excuse me" she said and immediately the room went quieter than it already was "Ell and I have some news"

They held hands. Ratliff squeezed hers.

Rydel let out a deep sigh and she spoke again "I'm pregnant"

The room erupted in cheers and even Rocky clapped. Riker stood up and hugged both of them, and whispered some words in Ratliff's ears that made him blush.

The girls squealed together and Laura, being the emotional wreck she was, cried a little.

Stormie was fully crying and hugging Rydel and Ratliff, and Mark was just looking at them proudly. Almost a year ago he was just a father, now he was a granddad, soon of 3 children.

"There's more" Rydel said and everyone looked at them surprised "I'm already 3 months pregnant"

Everyone gave her weird looks "She isn't showing off much, we know" Ratliff smirked.

"Which is weird because I'm having two girls, twins!" Rydel smiled and hugged Ratliff again.

Everyone just couldn't be happier with the news, and Ross forgot for some moments about that concert he had to attend, about Laura's pregnancy issues and just about everything. He was about to be an uncle again, this time of two beautiful baby girls.
