Chapter 15

Laura's POV

Ross opened the door for me and I walked into our house holding Brody in my arms. He was sleeping and chewing his thumb, so we were trying not to wake him up.

But of course Ross had to trip on the stairs and drop his suitcase.

"Fuck!"

"Ross!" I hissed, shushing him up. If he woke him up, I swear to god...

"Sorry, I just tripped" he grabbed the suitcase and continued his way upstairs. I followed him into our room.

"Shall we put him on his crib?" I asked, my voice low.

"I hope he doesn't wake up" Ross sighed and walked out of the room, hand on my back.

Brody has cried all the way to our house, and it was exhausting. It was obvious he wasn't used to the world yet, let alone cars.

Ross opened Brody's bedroom door for me and turned on the lights.

His room wasn't too big but it wasn't small either. The walls were painted in yellow and white, just like Ross wanted.

There was a huge window and two tiny ones. It only had a crib, a closet and some toys all over the carpet.

We wanted to buy more things for him, to make his room more like an actual boy room. But we had plenty of time for that.

I placed him carefully on his crib. He let out something like a moan, but he didn't cry. I let out a deep breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Good boy" I said as I rubbed his face with my finger softly.

"He's a good kid" Ross said, smiling down at him.

"Wait until he grows up a little" I said, suddenly starting to worry about it.

I needed to enjoy the moment and not to worry about things that may or may not happen. But he was my son, and I couldn't let go so easily.

"It'll be alright" Ross said, not looking at me, like he was reading my mind.

I didn't say anything for a couple of minutes "I know it will be" I finally whispered, and I meant it deep inside.

Eventually we left the room to let him rest properly. We went to our room and I helped Ross to unpack his things.

"I think I've forgotten something at the hotel" he said, scratching his chin "I kind of stuffed everything I found on the room in here"

I giggled "Don't worry" I got closer to him and hugged his waits "I've just recalled that little bet of ours" I smirked and his eyes glowed.

"I think we both know who won" he smirked and I pressed our lips together shortly.

"I did" I whispered on his ear and he immediately shook his head like I little kid.

"If I remember well, you were the one who wanted to die because she couldn't reach a shelf" he told me with a wicked smile.

I blushed "Yeah, but you were the one who looked like he'd throw up when you showed up at the hospital"

We stayed in silence for a few seconds "Fair enough" he stated and pecked my lips "Does this mean it's a draw?"

I shrugged "I guess"

He picked me up and thew me on the bed, getting on top of me himself. He held my arms on both of my sides.

"Since it's a draw, we'll do both" he said, and I was confused until he spoke again "It's been so long since the last time, you know"

Oh. That.

"Okay" I grabbed the hem of his tee shirt "But I don't want another baby yet, you're warned"

"Your wish is my command" he smirked and closed the door with a kick.
