So here's chapter 7! I'm in kind of a writers block but I'm sure I'll get rid of it soon (: Enjoy this chapter and please keep reading the story.
Chapter 7
Ross explained everything to Laura on their way to Riker and Diana's place. Laura looked really worried about Lucy, and bothered Ross with a million questions about her health status. Questions Ross didn't know the answer to.
"Just ask Diana when we get there" Ross sighed as she asked him, apparently, the last question she had in mind.
Laura removed quickly her seatbelt when they arrived there and raced to the door followed by Ross. When they got closer to the entrance they could hear a baby crying.
"Someone's cranky" Ross said and Laura smiled, ringing the doorbell. They wouldn't be able to hear them if they knocked at the door.
One minute later Riker appeared on the doorframe, smiling tiredly at them "Thank you so much for coming" he said and let them in.
"It's okay" Laura said "Where's Diana?"
Riker pointed at the living room and she walked towards it.
Laura's POV
It all happened really fast. One minute we were happily daydreaming about our baby, and the next minute Ross looks like he's about to faint and rushes over the car, taking me with him, hardly explaining a thing. How am I suppose to understand what's going on when he just answers me with a bunch of 'I don't know' and 'ask Diana'?
When he told me Lucy got into a car accident I was really shocked. I totally didn't expect that, and I couldn't help it but start to remember all the good times I had spent with her. She helped me to choose my wedding dress, she even made me a couple of dresses for my photo shoots, since she was a designer, and the most important of all: she's always been there.
Although she wasn't really family, I considered her as if she was. She didn't deserve what she was going thru.
When I stepped into the living room and saw Diana, I felt my heart heavier. She was holding a crying Joshua in her arms, who apparently wasn't planning on stopping his cries anytime soon. Diana looked nervous, tired and stressed. Her gorgeous blonde hair was thrown in a messy bun and she was wearing those glasses that -according to her- made her look like an unwanted nerd. I laughed internally.
I could've commented about her terrible looks, but I felt like she wasn't in the mood for that shit at the moment.
"Hey Laura" she gave me a tired smile as she continued balancing her son, trying to calm him down. It wasn't working.
"Let me hold him" I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't even bothered on greeting her, but she seemed to be about to commit suicide.
I held Joshua in my arms and started balancing him. Diana just sat down on the couch and sighed deeply "I'm sorry, I look like a mess"
I stood next to her "Don't blame yourself" I said "I know you have a lot in mind, it's okay"
She smiled at me and I smiled back. Just a second later, Joshua stopped crying and sucked his thumb, falling assleep instantly.
"Thanks god" a deep voice said behind me. I turned around to see it was Riker.
"It was Laura" Diana smiled and then yawned. She must be really tired.
"I'll tell you where everything is" Riker said to Ross and I and he led us upstairs to Joshua's bedroom.
It was painted in green and had little crib next to a wide window. Then there was a pretty big closet, his diaper changer and a play zone. It was extremely cute. I hope our future baby has a gorgeous room as well.
