The faint sound of beeping woke me up. My eyes slowly peeled themselves open, adjusting to the bright white lights above me. Slowly I tried to sit up but felt a sharp pain shoot down my arm, causing me to cry out.
"Hey, take it easy." I looked over to find Ashley getting up out of his seat. He came over and slowly sat me back down, propping the pillow up so my back had something to rest on.
"Where am I?" I asked hoarsely.
"The hospital. Andy— er, Andrew— brought you here. I drove us." He told me. I took in a deep breath as I looked around— I absolutely hated hospitals. Ashley grabbed a glass of water and handed it to me, telling me to drink.
I took a sip of the cold water, feeling it go down my throat with ease. My throat was so dry and I managed to finish it in seconds.
"Is he okay?" I asked.
Ashley nodded. "He's fine. Are you?"
"I'm just in a lot of pain." I mumbled.
"I can imagine. His claws went deep into your shoulder. If he went closer to your neck, Snow you'd be a goner." Ashley said, looking at me with worry. I shrugged my one shoulder and Ashley just laughed. "You really are crazy."
"I'm not crazy. I just care about Andy."
"I know, making you crazy." Ashley laughed. I rolled my eyes at him. Just then there was a soft knock on the door. A nurse emerged through, asking to speak to Ashley. He nodded his head and said he'd be back as he walked out, shutting it softly behind him.
I let out a soft sigh, leaning back against the bed. I rested my head down and shut my eyes again, taking in deep breaths. Slowly I reopened them and glanced down, seeing the needle lodged in my arm. My stomach turned and I shut my eyes. I hate needles.
"So you hate needles but you're fine with sharp fangs lodged in your neck?" My eyes shot open and I looked over to find Andrew leaning against the windowsill, his black eyes studying me. He arched a brow. "You're funny."
"Shut up. It's different." I whined.
Andrew chuckled. "What you did was stupid you know that right?" He asked me, arching a brow. He came over and stood next to my bed, resting his large hand on the side. "You could of easily gotten yourself killed."
"I had to help Andy." I told him.
"And kill me?" He asked. I furrowed my brows at him. What was he talking about? Andrew sighed and got down on his knees, resting his head on the railing of the bed. "You realize that when you give him that bullet and he becomes human, I'm gone."
I didn't even think of that. I covered my mouth in shock as I processed everything. If he became human, then his demon side would cease to exist anymore. Warm tears welled up in my eyes as I whispered, "I'm so sorry."
Andrew shrugged. "Nah, it's okay. Trust me, I think Andy deserves his life back." Andrew said quietly, looking away from me.
"What? How could you—?"
"I can hear him thinking. Every single thought that goes through his head is always worrying about whether or not he'll hurt someone. Or it's an excessive fear of being judged or being looked at with fear." He told me, looking back at me. Andrew shrugged as he said, "I don't want anyone feeling that way."
"Andrew I—" I started to speak but he shook his head at me. He gave a weak smile and shrugged again as he said, "I'm guessing you'd rather talk to your boyfriend."
