Chapter 12 - That Wound

It's been two days since the incident, Shadow had been going out with Cream and some others just so he could get on his feet. I however, have been looking at maps and graphs, finding out if we have enough resources to survive on out in the wild here. Mephiles places his hand on my shoulder, he gazes at me with the ice water eyes, he wants to tell me something he shouldn't.

"What is it?" I ask coldly, Mephiles flinches from the sudden question. He shakes his head and pulls his hand back slowly. I grab Mephiles' arm, pulling him closer to me. I glare at him threateningly. "I asked a question. You answer." I said menacingly.

"Hey! Stop it!" Mana the hedgehog yelled, she runs in between Mephiles and I, breaking my hand away from Mephiles' arm. "Are you ok?" Mana asked Mephiles. He embraces Mana, giving her a hug.

"Amy? What's going on?" Blaze asked, walking over. Mana looks over at me, she's worried.

"Are you ok? Amy?" Mana questions, softly taking hold of my hand. Blaze glares at me, she knows something is going on. I take a deep breath, taking in all the sudden anger I had.

"Nothing." I say blankly. Mana and Blaze stare at me, they don't believe me.

"Maybe you can use some rest." Blaze suggests.

"I'll take her." A voice said coming from behind me. I yelp as I turn around and slap whoever was behind me. I open my eyes to see a big red hand print on Shadow's cheek, and yet, Shadow doesn't get angry or changes his expression, he just has that blank face that he's always had. "Like I said, I'll take Amy to her room." Shadow says. I have to apologies... I have to... I open my mouth to say 'sorry', but, something is holding me back.

"Shadow- I... I'm... I..." I place my hand on my head, breathing heavily. Why can't I apologies? 

"Amy, you need to get some rest." Shadow says in his original, unfeeling cold voice.

"No! Shadow! I... I need to..." It's like something held my tongue, I can't say it, I tried to force myself but I can't. I just can't. Shadow raises an eye-brow, he sighs.

"It's fine, Rose, I forgive you." I look up at Shadow who's looking away from me, his monotone face staring at my room. I scream out loud. Blaze, Mana, Mephiles and Shadow's faces turn to me. They gather around me as if I was some sort of animal. Mana grabs my hands and hugs me tight.

"What's wrong?" Blaze asks in confusion. Sweat goes down Shadow's face, he doesn't know what to do. He picks me up and holds me close.

"She's just tired." He says, he walks to my room, leaving the little crowed behind. He places me genitally on the bed. Shadow opens the door, I reach out my hand, I don't want Shadow to leave.

"Shadow... Don't leave..." I whimper. Shadow turns around in shock, his face was the most shocked I've ever seen him. 

"A-Amy?" Shadow stutters. He runs over to the side of my bed, placing his hand on my cheek, and his other hand on my gun-shot wound.

"What...?" I look down to see a pool of blood in my stomach. Shadow lifts my plain pink shirt, he stares at my stomach for a few minutes.

"Your wound... It's opened back up, it's like... You've just been shot again." Shadow says. I place my finger into the pool of blood, I lift my hand to my face. I start to shake violently, Shadow presses the emergency button with full force, Tails bursts into the room after 5 seconds.

"What's wrong?" Cream yells coming in after Tails, holing a first aid kit.

"Her wound has re-opened." Shadow says, slightly panicked. Tails looks at it as I sit on the bed. The wound doesn't hurt, and yet, it's bleeding out. I blankly stare at the wound, not showing any signs of pain.

"Amy, doesn't it hurt?" Cream asks unsure, whilst patching up my wound with bandages.

"Surprisingly it doesn't..." I say, rubbing my arm nervously. Cream and Tails finish their examination, they don't tell me anything, they just walk out the room, Tails scratching his head and Cream whimpering worriedly. I sit on my bed patiently while Shadow rummages though the first aid, hoping to find some cream.

"It doesn't hurt..." I say, stopping Shadow from tiring himself out. He turn around, I get to see his face, he has black rings under his eyes and he still has that shocked expression. "Shadow, I'm fine." I insist.

"If you say so..." He says uncertainly. Shadow doesn't seem himself anymore... He's become more distant. Should I ask him? No... I don't want to start drama. My stomach is starting to pound, it's probably because of the wound.

"What's wrong with you, Shadow?" I blurt out, not having control of my words. I need to stop, I thought to myself, but there's something pushing me.

"What?" Shadow asks.

"These past days... You said you loved me before, and yet you never prove it! Do you still love me or not! I want an honest answer!" I yell out, tears going down my tired face. Shadow stands at the doorway, shocked.

"A-Amy..." He says silently. He comes over to the bed I am sitting on, his hand wipes my tears away softly. Shadow's ruby eyes came to life, the fire getting stronger with passion. He grabs my arm, and pulls me in for a passionate kiss. I don't bother to fight back, he leans forward, asking for more, I fall onto my back as Shadow looms over me. I blush a bright red, as Shadow eyes stay straight on mine.

"Get off me Shadow!" I laugh as Shadow tickled me.

"This is revenge for tickling me!" Shadow yelled angrily. I laugh loudly as Shadow keeps tickling me. He finally stops when when I run out of breath, struggling to get my breath back, Shadow sits next to me, patting my back hoping it would help.

"Thanks Shadow..." I said. I lean on Shadow, hoping he would stay still while I let my breathing go back to normal, and thankfully he stayed still. He played with my quills, humming softly.
