Chapter 15 - Stay Safe

I wake up in a cave with little light, it's really dark. I must've been out for the whole day since the last time I was awake was around one in the morning.

"Morning beautiful..." Kyle came out of a small shadow. I struggle to get up, I realize that my arms have been chained up. "Aren't you precious?"

"I thought you had other people with you..." I say uncertainly.

"I did. Before one of them shot you and then got killed by Shadow." Kyle says, crossing his arms. So that's who they were... Kyle's eyes shot back to me, he smiles evilly. "I see why you go for fifty-thousand... You're beautiful..." Kyle says. Mad from the attempt of his failed complement, I kick him back before he placed his hand on me.

"Don't you touch me." I say threateningly. Kyle stays back, narrowing his eyes. He takes his walkie-talkie from his pocket and calls someone. Sweat suddenly goes down Kyle's face.

"Do not set camp in this area! There is other life presences!" A voice yells. Kyle suddenly ditches me, leaving me in the cave.

"Hey! You can't just leave me here!" I scream. Kyle doesn't listen. 

I stay sitting for hours, the sun rising slowly while my stomach begins to growl. A sudden shadow peaks into the cave, it's Cream!

"Miss Amy!" Cream shouts as she runs towards me with Tails behind her.

"I'll get you out of here." Tails says, pulling out a laser. I break free from my chains and give Tails and Cream a hug. Tails pulls out a phone and speaks. "We found Amy, meet at the base!"

"Let's go, Miss Amy!" Cream yells, pulling me along. I finally got back, I see Shadow walking around waiting for me. Shadow's eyes catch mine, he runs to me and gives me a hug. I accept his embrace, for so did I also miss him.

"Don't ever do that again! How could you leave your tracker with me?" Shadow shouts. "You could've been killed-" I decided to shut Shadow up with a kiss. It worked.

"Look, I didn't die, Kyle left because some guy told him too. They aren't near us anymore." I reassured Shadow. He sighed and placed my hand on his lips.

"Just don't scare me like that..." Shadow mumbles. Mephiles runs over, checking for something on my clothes.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Checking for his tracking devices. They may have put one on you." Mephiles said, and he was right. I had a different device on me that had Eggman's face on it, Mephiles tosses it to Sticks. She smashes the device with her bare hands. "You should wash up... You could've gotten ticks while you were out there the whole night. Shadow, you help her." Mephiles ordered. Shadow nodded and picked my weak body up off the floor.

I had my shower, cleaning every inch of my body, of course, I was really weak for some reason, so, Shadow and I decided to have a bath together. We were both blushing the whole time but I decided to not act that weird about it. I fall onto Shadow in the tub.

"Sorry!" I apologized quickly. Shadow grabbed my arm, keeping me on top of him, he strokes me quills and hums softly.

"It's fine." He says, smiling softly. We both get out of the bath and dry each-other's quills. I put my clothes on while Shadow waits for me on our bed. I jump onto the bed next to Shadow, he grabs  my waist and pulls me close to him. We are nose to nose, his breath that escapes his mouth enter my mine. His hand goes near my chest and yet, he doesn't stop the eye contact between us. I exhale softly as Shadow places his lips on my collarbone. I exhale softly as Shadow picks me up and places me on the bed properly.

"Shadow... That squirrel will pay." I say dizzily. Shadow placed a hot cloth on my forehead, stokes my cheek once and kisses me.

"He will pay for taking you..." Shadow says with an angry tone.

"No, he will pay for taking you away from me. I know him and his friends did something to you, and that something made you starve and weak, they will pay." I cough. Shadow stares at me with a surprised expression on his face.

"You don't need to trouble yourself for me." Shadow insisted.

"But you did for me, you went through torture for me, can I not do the same for the one I love?" I argue. Shadow kept completely silent for a few minutes. He doesn't know what to say, he doesn't know how to argue without making it sound like he's selfish.

"I don't want you to go through I what I went through, can I not save the love of my life from torture?" Shadow asks. He's putting me into a hole now, I don't know what to say.

"Shadow, I love you too much to let you leave me again." I plead, holding onto Shadow's hand whilst tears fall onto my white pillow. Shadow's eyes fell to the floor, feeling guilty and sad.

"Amy, I love you too much to let you go through pain that isn't yours to take." He shoots back. I grab onto Shadow pulling me up to eye level, his eyes were warm and comforting. I take hold on his face, my tears falling onto my shirt.

"Please... I don't want you to leave me again, I want you to stay with me." I cry, stuffing my face into Shadow's chest. I feel Shadow's hand brush over my head, I feel a small drop of liquid fall onto my forehead. I look up to see Shadow trying to hold his stern face.

"I don't want to loose you. I want to keep you safe. Please, stay safe for me, I can't live without you." Shadow says, covering his face with one arm. I hold Shadow's face in a cup with my hands, he takes my embrace and kisses me passionately. I clutch onto him like I was clutching on that branch for dear life, I don't want to loose the thing I've changed for, what I've been fighting for, but, I guess Shadow is thinking the same thing. He's changed, he's been fighting like I have, all we can do is debate on who can take charge and protect.

"Listen, I've been fighting, you have been fighting too, but I know for a fact that you don't want to go through whatever you went through." I whisper as I hug him tightly.

"I will do it again if it means you will live." Shadow says sternly, pulling me in closer. I don't know what to say now, this is what talking to Shadow is like, trying to reason with him, but, either way, when a problem comes up, it's usually Shadow who's right, Shadow's the one who wins. This time, I want to be right, I want to be a fighter and protect the one I love.

"We both feel the same way Shadow... If it comes down to it, when something might happen, please, just stay safe, for me.
