My eyes open as I blink a few times to let them adjust to the lighting. I then look around and notice that I'm laying in a hospital bed in one of those hospital gown things. Then everything that had happened flooded into my brain. I tear up as I remember seeing my sister's and my mother's dead bodies beside me in the crashed van. A doctor soon came into my room.

"Ah good. You're awake. How do you feel?" he asked me.

I just laid there staring at him. I didn't want to speak. I just wanted to curl up and cry until my dad came home.

"Oh, you remember the accident. I'm sorry for your losses son. We had sent a message out to your father and told him what happened, but he wanted to stay where he was and fight."

"W-Where is he now?" I asked him.

"He's still in Kuwait where the operation took place. I'm sorry to say that he was badly wounded in a battle and is in a coma, but don't worry he's safe and he should be fine."

"So he's going to come home soon?" I say with a bit of excitement.

"Yes. He still hasn't woken up yet from his coma, but when he wakes and is able to travel he'll be home before you know it."

I smile a bit knowing that my dad is going to come home to me soon.

"How long have I been out for doc?" I asked the doctor as he looks at my chart.

"You've been out for 7 days." he answered me.

'7 days? I feel like it just happened yesterday.' I thought.

The doctor soon leaves me to take in all of the information that was thrown at me. I laid there hoping and praying that my dad would come back to me safe and sound. Then another man that had greyish hair and a bit of a beard walked into my room. I look at him confused.

"Can I help you sir?" I asked him.

"Are you Robin?" he asked me.

"Yes sir. Who are you?"

"I'm Agent Mike Franks with NIS. I'm investigating your mother and sister's murder."

I nod and allow him to come closer. I didn't really think about their deaths as a murder case, but when I thought about it, it was technically murder.

"Can I ask you a few questions?" Mike asked me.

"Yes sir. I'll do anything I can to help." I answered him.

"Alright. Did you by any chance see the man that shot the agent?"

"No sir. I was sitting in the middle of the backseat, so i couldn't have gotten a good view of the shooter."

Mike nods.

"But I had a feeling that something was going to happen at some point sir."

"How long have you had that feeling?"

"Ever since my dad was shipped off on a top secret mission sir."

"And you didn't tell anyone?"

"No sir. I thought I was just being paranoid, but I was wrong." I said with tears filling my eyes.

"Don't worry buddy. We'll get the man responsible for this. I won't rest until he's behind bars or dead." he said with meaning in his voice.

I nod to him as he stood and patted me on the shoulder.

"Let me know if you need anything. These people know how to reach me." he said before walking out the door.

I laid there in the hospital bed thinking about everything that was said to me. I soon fell into a peaceful sleep and it felt good to have some real sleep.
