Well, the case has taken a lot longer than Jenny thought. It's been several months since I took the case and went undercover. Since it's took so long Jenny allowed me to see my dad from a distance and to send him letters as well as an occasional phone call. Dad was officially back working for NCIS, but he was different. Not a good or bad different, just different. He had a mustache too, which throws everyone off I'm sure.
As for me and the case, it's been going well. When I first met Macy something just clicked between us. I think she could sense it too, because she's always talking to me and we're always hanging out. After about a month of meeting her I had asked her out. I thought I was moving a bit fast, but she said yes to me. I was surprised. Now you're probably wondering if I asked her out just to get closer. That's kinda true, but not at the same time. To be honest, when I'm around her I feel things that I've never even felt before about anyone. I don't know if it's like puppy love or if it's genuine love, but I definitely feel something.
I've been undercover for about five and a half months now and we've been dating for four and a half months. Tonight she had invited me over to her house to meet her parents. I was nervous, not only am I meeting her parents, but I'm meeting the man that's speculated of selling government intel. I also saw this as a chance to get a look at his home computer and laptop to see if I could find anything to help our speculation.
I arrive at her house and parked in the driveway. I stepped out of the car as I locked it and walked up to the front door. I knocked and Macy's mother answered.
"Oh, hi there! You must be Robin!" Macy's mother said.
"Yes ma'am. That would be me." I replied.
She stepped out of the way to let me inside. I carefully wipe my feet on the outside rug and step inside. I looked around the place taking in my surroundings.
"My husband is in his office. He should be coming out soon." Macy's mom said.
Macy then walked down the stairs and hugged me tightly as she kissed my cheek. I smiled at her and hugged back.
"Awe! You two are so adorable! It's like you were made for each other." Macy's mom said.
I laugh a bit as Macy blushed and laughed a little.
"Thanks mom." Macy replied.
"I'll go start dinner and leave you two be." Macy's mom said as she walked to the kitchen.
Macy led me to the living room as we sat down on the couch. I wrapped my arm around her as she nuzzled up to me.
"I'm glad you agreed to come tonight." Macy said.
"Well, I thought it was about time I met your parents." I replied.
She smiled up at me. "Very true."
I smiled back at her.
After a while dinner was finally ready. Me and Macy head to the dining room as Macy's mom put the food on the table. What was strange is that Macy's dad hasn't come out of his office yet.
"I'll see what's keeping Jim." Macy's mom said as she walked Jim's office.
We then heard a scream and we ran to Jim's office. Me and Macy walked into the room to see Jim sitting behind his desk pale and cold. I walked over to him and saw a gunshot wound in the back of his head. I check his pulse to confirm that he was dead, and he was. I looked at the two women standing there holding each other with tears flowing down their face looking at me. I shook my head lightly and they began to cry. I took them out of the room and led them to their living room. They sat down on the couch and I sat down on the coffee table in front of them.
"There is some things that I need to tell you both." I said.
"What is it?" Macy replied.
"This is going to be a lot to take in and I understand that, but you need to know these things."
"We can take it Robin. Just tell us." Macy's mom said."First off, my last name isn't Jackson. Jackson is my middle name."
Macy looks at me a bit shocked. "Then what is your real last name?""My last name is Gibbs. I work for a government organization called NCIS." I said.
"So you lied to me?" Macy asked.
"No. You never asked if I had a job." I said.
"I didn't?" Macy asked.
I shook my head. "And I've been undercover this whole time."
"So you've been using my daughter?" Macy's mom asked.
"I really didn't want to, but I didn't have a choice in the matter. I made a deal with the Director of NCIS. I agreed to this case as long as I didn't lie." I explained.
"So if I did ask what your job was you would tell me the truth?" Macy asked.
"If I wasn't ordered to say otherwise, yes. I would've told you my real job." I said.
Macy smiled a bit as did her mother. I think they appreciate my honesty.
"So, what were you using me for?" Macy asked.
"I needed to get close to your father." I said.
"What for?" Macy's mom asked.
"Your husband was speculated for stealing and selling government intel, like secret government projects and government strategies." I explained.
"No. Jim wouldn't do that." Macy's mom said.
"Like I said, he was speculated. We weren't sure if he is apart of that or not. That's why I'm here. I was put undercover to find out." I said.
They both nod.
"Who would kill my dad anyway?" Macy asked.
"That's what I'm going to find out." I said.
They both nod once again.
I stood up and walked into the kitchen, not only to give them a moment to take in everything, but to call Jenny as well.
"Hello?" Jenny asked.
"Hey, Jenny." I said.
"Robin? I thought I told you not to call me."
"I know, but we have a bigger case on our hands now."
"What do you mean?"
"Jim Harrison is dead."
