It's been five months since Jim Harrison's case. Macy had decided to become an agent and I was quite happy she was interested. She's been at the academy for the last five months at a base in Norfolk. We have one phone call every night before she has to turn in for the night. I haven't been to the academy since I was sixteen. She tells me that everyone there knows of my time at the academy like I was some sort of legend or something. Which I kinda am since I'm the first sixteen year old to be hired by a government agency.
I would sometimes go to visit Macy there at the academy when I was able to. The place actually looks more decent since I was there. The bathrooms are a lot cleaner that's for sure.
Today was the day that Macy would graduate the academy and become an agent. She has passed every exam necessary to become one and I am extremely happy for her as well as her mother. Of course her mother didn't like the idea of becoming an agent, but she supported her through every step.
Me and Macy's mother arrive at the academy and head to the area where the ceremony was taking place. We take our seats relativity close to the front and waited for the ceremony to begin. Everyone stood up as the cadets began to walk in and take their seats. I spotted Macy towards the front and smiled. I pointed to her to show her mother and she started to take pictures. I could tell she was looking for us, because her eyes were looking around frantically. After all of the special awards were given out they finally received their diplomas. When Macy's name was called I screamed as loud as I could and clapped for her. She apparently heard me cause she looked at where my screaming came from and spotted me. She smiled and waved at me and me and her mother wave back.
After the ceremony, we find Macy and she hugs me tightly with a big smile on her face. I hug her back.
"I'm so proud of you Macy." Her mother said.
"Thanks mom." Macy replied.
Macy pulled away from me and hugged her mother as she hugged back. Today was a very important day for Macy and I couldn't be any happier for her.
We then walk back to my car, that I got to keep from my undercover job, and climbed inside. I drive Macy and her mother home and parked in the driveway. Macy's mother got out of the car and Macy got in the front.
"I'm happy for you, Macy. I really am." I told Macy.
"Thank you, Robin. I'm glad I had you by my side through all of this."
I smile. "It's my pleasure."
She giggles and kissed my cheek. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Alright. I love you."
"I love you too."
She pecked my lips and got out of the car. I smile the whole way back to dads house. Sadly Jenny wouldn't let me keep the apartment. Which I probably wouldn't keep anyway.
I arrive home to see the basement door open. I walked down the stairs to see dad working on his boat. Dad looked up at me as I descended down the stairs.
"Hey, son. How was the ceremony?" dad asked.
"It was nice. She's excited to become an agent."
"I'm glad. She's going to be a good addition to the team."
"You think so?"
"I know so." dad said with a bit of a smile.
I smile back and took off my suit jacket as I laid it over the chair. Dad grabbed another sander and handed it to me. I took it and started to sand the boat along with dad. I loved these moments with him. No talking. Just us sanding a boat in complete silence. It's good bonding time for us.
