The beginnning of winter

The cloudy skies
Surprise me
When I woke
I saw the sun shinning brightly

The daisies
Still alive
I don't know why
It must be one
Of winter's illusions

I listen to the birdies
Chirp
Their winter tune
At half past noon

The hairs on my neck
Are standing straight up
As the chilly morning breeze
Washes over me

Winter has come at last
Time to break out
My old sweatpants

Get out my favorite book
And curl up by the fire
Cause it's the beginning of winter
And I'm already
So tired
