Four years ago, a young, spiteful, jaded Percy Jackson fan - who was only 12, yet had been in the fandom for 5 years already - decided to get her anger out by making a PJO rant book, fittingly titled "Percy Jackson Rant Book".

3 titles, 5 covers, and 36 rants later... I think I've reached my breaking point.

I think I've reached my breaking point

This will be the end of my PJO rants. I don't know what else to talk about. As of me writing this, I am almost 16, and have been in the fandom for nearly a decade. But I'm not as active as I once was. I don't obsess over fanart, read fanfiction (aside from rereading old stuff for the sake of nostalgia) or keep up with every work Rick puts out. So I think it's high-time I pull the plug on this facade I have of actually, truly caring about how the fandom acts.

Because the truth is, this is not my fandom anymore. My fandom was full of Daughtry and Black Veil Brides edits, anime-esque art, and cheesy Percabeth oneshots on Fanfiction.net. My fandom hated Calypso and shipped Valdangelo and thought Luke's death was the saddest thing in the world.

Simply put, the fandom I once loved has changed, and is now, as I've said before, stale. I can't even rant about the changes, because even when Rick shakes things up in his books, nothing really happens in the fandom, and when it does, I don't truly care enough to write about it. I haven't even finished TBM, and it's been out for months. I do know the main spoiler though, and honestly... I feel indifferent.

I will always be thankful for my time spent in this fandom, and to Rick for creating this series

I will always be thankful for my time spent in this fandom, and to Rick for creating this series. It changed my life in infinite, unspeakable ways. There are fandoms I'm always going to be apart of, again just for nostalgia, but PJO is different. PJO is always going to be a part of me.

I'm always going to be a demigod.

Thanks for coming along with me on this wild ride. I never imagined this book would get so many reads. Because it's been around for a while, there's so many friends I've made through it, but so many of them have deleted their accounts, or simply become inactive. So I need a fresh start. But I'm always gonna think fondly of this book.

This book kickstarted my career on Wattpad. This book is like my home. But even homebodies have to travel, sometimes.

If you, too, miss the days before the Seven™, when it was just kids running around in the early 2000s fighting titans, feel free to check out my Sea of Monsters-era fic, Apollo, Summer, and the Camp for Greeks

And if you don't check that or any of my other works out, that's totally fine, but I guess this is goodbye.

Until next time...

UPDATE, 15 MINUTES AFTER PUBLISHING THIS: I just re-watched the old Viria tributes to PJO, back from when she wasn't the official artist and we all worshipped her, and I am actually crying right now. I really do love this fandom. I hope all the new half-bloods out there are affected by this series as much as I and all of my fellow fandom veterans were.

It really is wild to look back and see "how far we've come" 😉.

Stay positive!
