Elise's POV

"Look, Elise, you know I love you," he tries to convince me.

"No, Luke. Just, no. Okay, if you really so called 'love me' you wouldn't be doing this. No. Not to me," I fight back.

"Baby..." I cut him off.

"No! Don't baby me Luke! Why the hell are you breaking up with me?"

"Look, I got a job okay? A good one that will pay money. But it's somewhere else. Somewhere far away from Australia. And I don't want to tell you where, okay? Plus, long distance never works out. We're both saving ourselves from the heartbreak. And another thing is, I think we both knew that this day would come. First of all I'm 21 and you're 17. You live in the United States and, well, I live here. You only come down for the summer. It was never going to work out love," He says, staring at me in the eyes while saying his little speech.

The thing that hurt the most was when he said our age differences. After everything that he's ever said to me about our age differences not mattering and then saying this, hurts. It hurts a lot. Especially hearing it from him.

I sense the tears about to spill and try to hold them back but epically fails.

Luke starts to hold me and then says, "I'll always love you. No matter what."

Yeah right.

I move so that I'm not in his embracing arms anymore and say facing him, "I thought you were different. I really did. I thought that you were the one person that would always be there for me. Like you said you would. But guess what? I was wrong. Again I was wrong. I was so wrong. Don't even try to get me back when you realize how much of a mistake you just made by breaking up with me."

And with that, I walk away.

I walk away from the only person that ever seemed to get me. To know what I feel. To know what I want, and need. To the one person that's ever truly loved me.
