Sometimes You Get More Than You Want

Luke's POV

She smirked?

Why the hell did she smirk? This makes no sense. Was she trying to make me jealous? She could never make me jealous. Does she really think that she can? Certainly not with that creep. Demetrius... I think his name is? Well, I do know his full name, but only because he's my student.

What am I even doing? I shouldn't be thinking about this. I need to concentrate on my class and with grading these pre-tests. I can't be thinking about such childish things.

Then again, I'm the one being a child as well because I'm using Hannah to make Elise jealous. But on the other hand, I'm also helping Hannah to be a better student. Oh what am I saying? I'm really just using her.

The real question going through my mind right now is, why is Elise trying to make me jealous? Is she trying to make me jealous, or am I just overreacting? No, who am I kidding? She smirked at me. That can only mean that she's trying to make me jealous. Does that mean that she is doing the same thing as I am? If she is, than I'll be the happiest Aussie on the planet! If we had the same intentions that means that she wants to get back together.

I wonder if it isn't for the same intentions though. If that's the case I'd be the saddest man in this universe.

Maybe she sees it as a game? I really hope not. All I want is to make her jealous so she'll come crawling back to me.

"Mr. Hemmings?" I turn my head to the voice that said my name and looked at Hannah in front of my desk.

"Yes Ms. Sherk?"

"Can we maybe work on this after school today?" She said refering to the math packet in her hands.

"Sorry but I have after school detention today. I mean I guess you could still come but my full attention won't be on you," I explained.

I peeked over to see Elise staring at us. She didn't notice me staring at her because she was to busy sending daggers at Hannah. I was making her so jealous. And I loved every bit of it.

"If it's fine with you, it's fine with me," she smiled my way.

"Yes, of course it is. I'll see you in detention," I laughed and then she walked away to sit back down in her seat.

I hadn't realize how much time has gone by until I heard the bell ring and saw all of the students get up and leave.

As Hannah walked out she said, "See you later in detention", and then winked.

I didn't even bother with the wink because I had something else on my mind. And that thing was that Elise was right behind Hannah when she spoke.

That's when an idea came to my mind. I have to somehow get Elise in detention. Hopefully no one else has detention too so it would just be Elise, Hannah, and I.

I have to thiink of how I'll get her into trouble though.

Well, I'm glad that I have a free period next.

Elise's POV

I was walking to my next class with Demetri because his next class was next to mine. I stop by the door to say goodbye but instead of speaking first, Demetri speaks up and says, "Hey, five minutes into class say you need to go to the bathroom and meet me outside, okay?"

I didn't get to respond because he was gone to his class before I could answer.

I turn into my class and take a seat next to Mae, happy once again that my assigned seat is next to one of my best friends.

"Hey," Mae said.

"Hi," I smiled back.

And that was the end of our conversation because the bell rang and the teacher came into the classroom telling us to settle down.

Five minutes later, I did what Demetri told me to do and asked to go to the bathroom, in which the teacher said I could.

The bathroom was only around the corner and I waited there for another minute or so for Demetri.

He smiled and said, "Hey."

"Yeah hi. So what's this all about?" I asked but not in a serious matter.

"I just had a few questions that I wanted to ask you."

"And it had to be now?"

"Well, I wanted to ask the questions in private, that's all. And I feel that if I waited, you'd be with you're friends and not alone."

"You couldn't have called or texted?"

"Oh. Well I guess I could've," he says shaking his head while looking down at his feet and doing that boy thing where they put there hand behind their neck and act all cute and shy.

What in the world did I just say?

Cute. My mind reminded me.

I tried to shake it off and just said, "Well, I'm here now so what?" I smiled.

I didn't want to try and sound mean. I wanted him to be my friend because he's cool but more importantly, I also needed him to make Luke jealous. Especially after that little scene I saw between Luke and Hannah today. I wonder if Hannah knows that she's being played?

"Well, please do correct me if I'm wrong but, do you maybe, just maybe, know Mr. Hemm--" but he was cut off by someone;s voice. A voice of authority.

"What are you two doing? Shouldn't you both be in class?" I hear Luke say, coming up to us.

Some kind of authority. I didn't think he realized it was me yet because he was coming from behind me, my back faced to him.

"Detention for the both of you. Now get to class before I give you two detention for two days," he exclaimed.

That's when I turned to him and saw that he was serious. When he saw my face, his look turned into a surprised one instead of a serious one.

"Did you hear me? Get to class now," he said sternly, his face turning serious again.

Demetri and I nodded and walked off back our classes. When we got the doors that lead us to our classes, he stopped, took my hand in his, and gave me an apolegetic look, and then released my hand, walking into his classroom. After he went into his room, I did the same.

Luke's POV

Well that was easier than I thought. I really just needed to go to the bathroom and then I saw two students talking in the hallway instead of being in class. I didn't even know that it was Elise until she turned around.

The only problem was that Demetrius had detention too. But hey, sometimes you get more than you want, whether it's good or bad. I think that I can make this work. I am Luke Hemmings, after all.

I'm not really sure when I can update because I'm starting high school soon and I have summer things to do and I need to go shopping and shit but yeah.
