There was no point in even trying anymore.

Knowing that no matter what I said I'd get ignored, I decided that I'd let him feel the same he had been making me feel because from now on I'd ignore him.

"Dude, I have no idea what you did, but oh god, Jaemin came running to me after first period asking why you had suddenly stopped speaking to him." Looking up from my lunch I raised an eyebrow at the boy who had ran through the cafeteria screaming my name, and Sejeong covered her face with her free hand, I felt a pinch of embarrassment for her - Hyuck really was a loud person from time to time.

"I've decided to avoid him." Another pinch but this time not a pinch of pity, more like one of pain.

As those words left me I had tried my best to keep a straight face, and as soon as I felt my eyes twitch just the tiniest bit, my attention was once again on the cafeteria food which actually was a disgrace to be called food.

"Exactly why are you avoiding him?"

After clearing my throat I lifted my head, my gaze landing on my friend's new girlfriend who now was sitting by the table I had been sitting by alone just before.

"Oh, let me tell you my sweet Sejeong. I actually thought it was quite obvious why I did so, but okay. He avoided me after rejecting me in a rather harsh way. I'm just ignoring him back." After a few seconds she nodded, and it looked like Hyuck was about to say something but it was like a blow of realizations hit him as he quickly averted his eyes.

I didn't really put much thought into his actions and continued speaking.

"I'm not saying he had to accept my feelings, but he could've at least turned me down in a way that didn't humiliate me." Sejeong blinked her eyes a few times before her head slowly started moving up and down in yet another nod.

"Oh- well- actually I think I would've done the same thing." She muttered mostly to herself, and I made some small movements with my arms before nodding.

   "Right?"

"He's a confusing person indeed." Immediately I noticed that something was off with Hyuck, and I squinted my eyes at him slightly to which he quickly let his gaze land on something that wasn't me.

"Hm, what do you mean?" Tilting my head to the side a tiny bit I stared down the boy who fidgeted with his hands, and he cleared his throat before lifting his head to look at me.

"Even when he was the one ignoring you he actually kept texting and talking to me, asking about how you were and if you hated him." This time it was my turn to blink a few times before.

Was it that Jaemin had texted him about me that had made him act all odd and hesitant?

"Oh, then, what did you say?" Snapping back to reality I didn't even realize I had asked another question until the last word had been said, and the fidgeting Donghyuck was back, which was very unusual by the way.

"I answered him, who wouldn't hate you?" A rather awkward snicker left him after that, and I cracked a small grin in my two friends' direction before giving him a thumbs up, earning a shake of the head from Sejeong.

"I get why you two are friends.." That earned her a weak elbow in the side from her boyfriend, and she laughed lightly as he gave her an offended look.

"What do you mean by that?" The way the two laughed together, the way Hyuck wrapped his arms around the girl and placed kisses on her head made something inside me churn, and I couldn't help but imagine that Jaemin was Hyuck and I was Sejeong.

My intention wasn't to interrupt their moment but I caught their attention as I sighed, and I was about to apologize for disturbing them when Sejeong gave a nod towards me.

"If we go back to our previous topic, Jaemin is looking at you." The girl had awkwardly fixed her hair before speaking which had broken the rather awkward silence that appeared after I interrupted them.

"I wonder what he likes about her, I honestly thought that you suited him perfectly, Eunju." The sudden voice coming from my best friend made me jump in my seat, and the only thing I earned from her was a laugh and a slight hit on the shoulder.

I hated to admit it but her words almost made me smile.

Hyuck hesitated for a moment yet again. It was as if he was itching to say something.

"Actually it's kind of my fault.." I heard him mumble but decided to let it pass as the other two didn't seem to have heard it, the two already getting into a serious discussion about something.

Once again I squinted my eyes at him but he seemed to avoid my stare and didn't look up from his food as the two girls kept focusing on their own little conversation.

I was going to ask him about it later.
