"You are such a homophobe" Kate said accusingly. The disgust on her face was evident. Her and Rana had been friends for as long as she could remember, both had come to the street as new comers so took comfort in each others initial exclusion.Nights out inevitably resulted in following hung over days which they spent watching day time tv giggling and jeering at the blatant madness of reality stars. However,in this moment all Kate remembered was a lie.Her world came crashing down, a friend she thought she knew, had abhorred who she was this whole time.Kate had dealt with a lot of prejudice people in her lifetime but this maimed her.Like a dagger plunged through her chest, Kate was dumbfounded, she didn't even see it coming.Thoughts flooded in, why else would she roll her eyes at the sight of me kissing Imogen? Kate thought."Stay away. You hear me?!" were her final words to a overwhelmed drunken Rana who stood flummoxed on the cobbles.
The realisation overcame Rana. Her friend whom she had know for so long and grew so fond of despised her.In attempt to cope with the situation, Rana reminisced to the times before everything went wrong.Hazily, she remembered her impulsive friend who would drag her onto the dance floor despite being completely sober, she remembered the times when they would sing in unison to the radio, never letting the fact than neither could hit the notes stop them.So what went wrong? Rana couldn't comprehend, she was too drunk for starters.Alchol flooded her system, it became her blood as it circulated around her body suffocating any logical thoughts. Why did she roll her eyes?Unable to stand for any more prolonged time,Rana found herself shuffling home to her flat carrying along with her the sick feeling of a destroyed friendship.
