Chapter Nine

As soon as theyre gone im struggling up and running to John. Hes snarling swears and holding his foot. His eyes a blazing with anger and freckles seem darker then before.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry are you okay!"I put my hand on shoulder and sit next to him.he turns and smacks me. Hard. I fall back on my butt and stare at him in fear as Maria tends to his foot. Within seconds its healed.

"Are you stupid?" He hisses and towers over me as I scramble back.

"I... n-no." I shake my head. Maria moves to defend me. Hercules put's his arm out and looks at her.he shakes his head. My fight.

" I give you specific instructions to stay inside and keep your mouth shut! You directly disobey me and puts the lives of others at stake for shits and giggles!" He puts a foot on my chest to keep me from getting up.

"I couldn't just let people fight a fight I started!"I hiss back and shove his foot up. I stagger to my feet and the world spins. I gasp for air and shake my head.

"Oh yes you could! But you didn't!"He paces angerily. And eyes take me in. " Because of your own damn pride!"

"Because I'm not a China doll!" I snap and set my jaw. "Im not fragile! I could take those guys! You saw what..."

"What you got was a lucky shoot!" He jabs a finger in my chest and I move back a step.

" I got those blows because I'm smart and fast dumbass!"I jam my own finger back. "I came out here because I can't aut idly by while people die for me! Im sorry but I'm not some house maid you can boss around!"

" Alex I told you to hide for your own saftey. I treat you like a doll because I cant bare to see you hurt on my behalf. If one of those yahoos get a hold if you Im going to rip this kingdom piece by piece apart for you!"

I grit my teeth and shove him back. " I can hold my own! You know humans as fragile, slow, and submissive. I am none of those things and you know it!"

"Why can't you just listen to what I have and do as I ask! You killed one of my friends and I invite you into my home! Give me some respect damnit!"

" He attacked me!" I cry out.

"You shouldnt have been that close to thw broder!"

"Oh Im sorry!" I roll my eyes." I didnt know any of this,"i gesture around wildly." Or any of you exsisted until last week! Let me just time travel back and tell myself to go somewhere else!"

"Wheres that respect I asked for Alexander?"

"Give me some and maybe I'll give you some!" I growl out.

"Go to hell. "He snarls.

"Well, youre hear so I guess I'm already there." His eyes flare up and he smacks me.

"You stupid little whores' son!" He snarls. My shoulders and posture drops for a second,hurt flashes in my eyes and I back up a step. " No wonder your parents left! You must've given them a damn headache all the time! They earned the right to leave you!'

My posture goes ridged again and I bite my lips to hide tears.I raise my hand to him and Maria catches it before I can throw it.

"Do you want to be whipped?" She hisses and forces my hand down. I blink and eyebrows screw up.

" What?"I hiss, she rolls her eyes.

" If you lay on harmful hand on him, the king, you'll face the punishment of being whipped. " she snarls to mw and glares at John. " I think you two should stay apart for a while. Heal,collect your thoughts, and talk rationally. Okay?"

"Fine."I mutter and look down, she gives a razor sharp look at John.

" Alright. " He mutters. Everyone turns and starts to head inside. John and I glare at eachother before looking away. Just as Maria drops her hands I raise my hand again and smack him.
