Chapter Seventeen

"Alex.... Alex wake up." Thomas nudges me awake the next night. I frown and roll over .

"Five more minutes...."I groan.  He growls and pulls me intothe sitting postion and I look at him with tired eyes.

" Get up, we have go."He climbs out of bed and starts getting dressed. I look at him and cock my head.

"Why?..." i mutter. He helps me out of bed and presses a waks up kiss to my neck.  That wakes me up.

" Do you not hear that?" We both go silent as I pull on my shirt and I freeze. I hear. Horse hooves. Thousands of horse hooves and roars and the thunder of feet. "We need to fo now. There's no way im hell the castle gaurd will be ready in five minutes."

"Where is the castle gaurd? Theres always someone outaide keeping watch." I frown. I didnt hear any shouts or warning bells unless they... my eyes widen.

"Whoever was keeping watch is gone now. " Thomas says dryly.

"Oh my god..."I gulp and look at him. His jaws set and anger flared in his eyes.

"We need to go.  Now." He growls and garbs my hand as I pull my shoes on.

"We cant just leave everyone!" I look at him in horror..half in what was coming and half at the comment he made.

" We dont have time to run around banging on everyones doors waking them up!" He snaps. My eyes meet his and they plead, he sighs and shoulders gives.  I swear im the only person that can make him give in." Alright.... whats your plan?"

"Grab those trays." He hands them to me and I smile at him as I opwn the door and stand in the hall.

"This is a good way to piss people off. "He smirks as he stands on the doorway.

" Youre a good way to piss people off."I  smile and  raise the two pans over my head.

"True." He shrugs. I wink at him and start bangung the metal together.  The banging echoes through the empty hallways , the tourches on the walls spark to life and the moon hangs high in the sky outside

" Everyone up!"I snarl into the hall. I can hear groans as doors slowly open and doors open. People stand in the hallway looking utterly pissed off and annoyed.

"What is the meaning of this Alex?" Hercules growls as he  stretches only in loose bottoms.

" Everyone needs to get armed  and ready now." I drop the pans as John elbows his way to the front.

" Alex its almost three what are you..."John sighs and looks at me like im a confused toddler.

" You need to get your head out your ass and wake up." I growl and look around. " Theres an army coming for here. We're lucky they havent reached the city yet or we'd be roaylyed screwed. Everyone needs a weapon and armour now."

No one moves. They all stare at me with slack jaws and shocked eyes. Hercules is the first one to break out of the daze. He growls and starts barking orderd, within two mimutes all of the gaurd is  running to each armory in the castle and grabbing what they can and getting ready. John growls and stalks twoards Thomas who pushes off the wall and looks down at John with a sneer in his lip.

" You led them here." Johm hisses witha dry voice." Youve been lowering our gaurd, getting buddy buddy with someoneim the castle and now you've led them here." His head  snaps to me, Thomas' eyes widen and he shakes his head. He seems to shrink back." Alex hes a monster and always will be a monster. I told you you were making a mistake. You should've  left him,  you poor bastered.'

" John get your head out of your ass and act like a king." I slap him and give a supportive look at Thomas with a small smile. "Come on. Lets get ready."

I take Thomas' hand and we walk down the hall in silence. Thomas' eyes dont leave the ground as we walk. He keeps taking shakey breaths and looking out the window nervously.

" John just said that to get a rise out of you Thomas... its okay." I kiss his knuckles  .

"What if I accidentally did?..."He says looking at me in fear." What if you get hurt and its my fault? Im sorry. Im so sorry." His eyes start to well up with tears. I take his hands in mine and pull him to my chest tightly .

" Thomas. You ment no one harm here and thats all that matters. Youre going to be okay. We're going to be okay. "

I give a smile and he gives his glowing smile back. Its going to be okay. I hope.
