Chapter Twenty Six

I hook Legion outside the stable doors. And look up the wall. I set my jaw and climb up slowly and carefully. My fingers fit into the crevices  tightly and I pull myself up, I ignore the  screaming of my brain telling me to turn around and go home.

I can't.  I cant leave Thomas and thousands of Fae. Its not right.  I cant leave the love of my life.  Id sooner die. I heft myself over the top of the wall and walk slong the edge slowly and crouch down.  The black clothing blends in perfectly with the starless night.

When I see a gaurd tower I freeze and set my jaw,I slowly pull out my knife from my boot and quicker then anyone could see the two gaurds drop dead to the ground and I move smoothly and quickly over. I grab their weapons and hide them as I shed my jacket,I can't go into the castle looking like I just fought a war.

I tie my hair back neatly as I push the door open with my back and Im hit with a wall of heat. Thomas is in there. Somewhere. I kick my fur boots off as I walk down the steps and trade them for the leather knee high ones.

My eyes widen and I gasp as I gaze around the courtyard. Its bigger then John's castle and the city put together. Theres not a drop of snow anywhere and its warm like spring. People chat around me, I recognize a few from Thomas' city and a few others from John's castle.

The little girl who put the flower in my hair last week is staring wide eyed as she tugges on her mothers shirt. The mother loooks annoyes before looking where her daughter's staring. I put a finger to my lips and shake my head.

"Be quiet." The little girl nods firmly  as her mother pulls her to her chest.  I smile and slip into the croud of people, I pull up the hood of my over throw and keep my head down.

Where are you Thomas? I mutter as I move swiftly and slowly through the crowd, my hands stay on the hilt of the crowd.

"He's up there." I heat Maria's voice.  She's facing Herc like shes talking to him. They both keep smiles on their faces as I stop behind them and pull out a map.

"I wasn't aware you were my friend now." I scoff and jot something down.

"Everyone needs help now days its seems. And you're trying to help, but you need Thomas." I nod slowly. " Hes up in the throne room last I heard. Try there."

"I can't get past gaurds without killing them."

"I told my gaurds to give you a hand. You'll be okay ,just dont get cocky
"Herc says. I smile and nod.

"Thank you. "I nod and make my way to inside the castle.

Im doing great until I hit the hallway before the throne room, the gaurd leading me through the halls that herc had lead me stands at the end and shakes his head.

"I cant go further then this. Im sorry. "He bows twoards me and I blush.

"Stand up. It's okay,you did what you could and its more then enough. "I put my hand on his shoulder and he smiles.  He turns and walks back to his post smoothly.

I sigh and walk slowly through the hall. My hands steady themselves as I i put one hand on my sword and the other hanging at me side. My eyes watch every door and out every window critically as i look behind my shoulder. Its too quiet. Way too quiet. I shake my head and lay my hand on the doorway to the throne room.

And someones hand slams over my  mouth and wraps their other hand around my waist. I freeze and eyes widen as his hand slides down and lays on my hips.

" Hey there  sexy Lexi. I didnt think Id see your beautiful body around here anytime soon."Johnhums into my ear ,his head lays on my shoulder i give a muffled scream and try to kick him away. He chuckles and he wraps an arm around my legs as he picks me up "What are you doing here?'his lips trace patterns lightly over my neck .i grow impatient and bite down on his hand as my skin starts to grow warm.  He yelps and yanks his hand back .

"Im here to get my king back.  So kindly fuck off."  I punch hus jaw and he drops me as hus jaw cracks loudly.  I grab his wrist and throw him over my shoulder. I jump over him and throw open the doors to the throne room.  I run in and make it halfway before something slams me in the side and we go tumbling.  Lips wrap around my throat and teeth tease the skin. My eyes widen and I look.

It's Thomas.
