Chapter Fourteen

"No." Thomas scoffs and shakes his head "No way in hell are you going back to that war? It was uncivilized,there was no mercy. Someone like you wouldve been murderd slowly and painfully."

"Thomas, it's the only way to stop him. " I put my hands on his shoulders and my eyes study him.  His jaw is locked and arms around me tightly." No stone, no power."

"Send someone else. You're not going. "He shakes his head and puts his hands on on my cheek." Who knows what taking the stone away from him would change? What if it doesnt trigger the second war? What if we don't ever meet? I cant lose you."

"Thomas, we're soul mates." I kiss his lips softly and hug him tightly "Love alwyas findsa way. I promise we'll be okay. Who knows? There could be a second war no matter what. This could be imvetiable."

"What if it completly tips the scales? What if we're on the wrong side?" He touches our foreheads.

"Then I'll fix it." I run my thumb over his cheek." It'll be okay."

"I can't lose you Alex. What if you die?" He picks me up and holds me up to eye level.

"Let's not talk that way...."I warn and kiss his nose." Besides. Were soul mates, our fates are tied together. "

"My past self would help." Laf volunteers." I was very good at finding people who did not belong where and when they did."

"There's been multipul time travelers? "I blink.

"How do you think King is so young?"he cocks his head and I nod.

"Fair enough."

"But you will have to be careful, one wrong slip of words and everything could go wrong.  If you have any questions about who or what to talk to and about ask." Laf gives a firm look. "Do not be bull headed.  If you hurt the wrong person or say the wrong thing, it could jeopardize all of our lives today."

"Yes laf ." I nod. His jaw tightens and he looksout side.

" You must prepare yourself for bloodshed and death, the reaper was like an old friend to us durning that war." He muses studying the sky angerily." You must keep your wits about you, dont afraid to be stubborn.  You fight when you need to fight."

"Please. Be smart. Only use your power when necessary. Anyone finds out the chosen one is among their ranks you will be either enslaved,used, or murderd." Thomas kisses behind my ear and his hands rest on my hips.

"You're talking like im leaving now..."i smile but it quickly melts as I see the tears in his eyes. Laf holds out his hand and pours the stone into my hand. "No... I can't. "

"Now or never. He knows stuff Alex." He pushes me up against the wall and hands trail overmy body hungrily as I lean into the kiss and nod. " hurry."

"I love you." I kiss his jaw and he lets me go. I go over to philip and kiss him between the eyes,hes asleep peacfully." I love you little one."

I back up a safe distance from anyone and I look around the room with a set jaw. The stone starts to glow and my headstarts feeling fuzzy.

"l'amour conquiert tout." Thomas whispers and I smile at him. Then the world goes dark and the words echoe in my head.

Love conquers all.
