Day 4: buying/wrapping presents

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.•Brendon's pov•.
I had been walking the mall for hours looking for the perfect present for Ryan.  My searches seemed to be I vain.  I wanted to get him something really special he'd really enjoy.  I wanted it to be perfect though, and special.  I wanted it to show him I cared about him.
I had walked for hours, looping and backpacking in stores I'd already been in.  I groaned, flopping down defeated on  a bench in the foot court.  That's when I saw it.  Right across from me, a small jewelry store.  Damn, how had I not thought about it?
I pushed open the doors.  Surprisingly, the store wasn't incredibly crowded.  I looked around for a bit before I saw it.
The necklace was simple.  It had a silver chain that was short, but not too short.   Half of the necklace was a pale gold sun.  The other half had a silver moon.  The were slightly overlapping.  They had an eye delicately engraved onto each one, flawless lines seaming to two together.
I walked up to the counter, asking the cashier if she could take it out for me.  She smiled and nodded, grabbing the key from somewhere below the counter.
We walked over the the case and unlocked the door.  "I love this one," she said.  I smiled.
"Me too."
"Special someone?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.  I blushed.
"Boyfriend," I said hesitantly.
"Ooh show me pictures!"  She said.
"Okay, but he's really pretty don't steal him from me!" I joked.  She laughed.
"I'm about as straight as a circle," she said.
I loaded up the picture of Ryan that I had taken on our first date.  He was sitting on an old rusted swing at the playground we used to come to so often when we were just little kids.  He was wearing a pear of leggings that were black with pastel flowers on them, a pastel pink oversized sweater on to match.  He was smiling, a genuine, real smile, unaware I was taking the picture.  It's probably my favorite picture of him.
"So why this necklace?  Just like it or?"  She said. I blushed.
"Well the sun and moon have always been a thing with us . He's my moon and I'm his sun. It's silly, but it's just kind of one of our things.  She gave a warm smile.
She handed me the necklace.  "I think he'll love it,"  she said.  "What's your name by the way?"
"Brendon.  Yours?"
"Rose.  Can I get your number?  You seem cool, I'd like to talk again."  I scribbled it down on a piece of paper while she rung the necklace up.  "Send pictures!"  She yelled, waving me goodbye.
We were sitting at Ryan's house on Christmas Eve, curled up by the fire.  We wouldn't get to spend actual Christmas together, but we made a compromise.  "Okay so I got you a gift, it's not much, but it's something," Ryan said.
"I got you something too, open at the same time?"  He nodded eagerly.  I handed him his gift and he handed me mine.  And no wonder the cashier had asked so many questions.
He had gotten me the same necklace, just with a golden chain.
