Things are not as they seem.
The ones who portrayed themselves as innocents are not as clean. The ones who looked the most endearing are not as kind. The ones who seemed to have never convicted a crime have been charged in court more times than you've said thank you. The little ones who seemed the most cheerful have such harrowing backstories.
And my heart breaks, knowing nothing is as good as being picture perfect, for all the love in this world was built on hatred and anger. I stand helpless, hopeless, for all this while, I have been wrong.
