William Nylander had Maddie Young at hello. Maddie was doing a summer program in Stockholm, Sweden. She was new to the country and the culture and didn't even understand a word of Swedish. However, she was ready to learn as much as she could about the Nordic country.

It was a beautiful sunny June day and Maddie was at Grona Lund, the biggest amusement park in all of Sweden, when she bumped into Will. He was with his brother and few childhood friends.

They spent the rest of the day together and quickly formed a friendship. However, Maddie has found herself falling hard for Will and she hopes that he feels the same.

In the past month that she has known Will, she can't help but feel lovestruck. She loves everything about him, his sweet as honey personality, his sweet laugh, his incredible sense of humor. She loves how great he is with others, especially children and his fans.

She also loves their mini "dates" even though they aren't dates. She loves spending time with him, especially when Alex and his friends aren't around. She just hopes that they can become a thing before she has to leave for America again.

It was a beautiful July night and she was with Will on a "date" at Grona Lund, which has become Maddie's fave place. The song Into You by Ariana Grande is blaring through the speakers and Maddie can't help but think about her feelings for Will.

He juat offered to buy her ice cream and comes back from the vendor with a cone for her.

"Here you go, Maddie," he smiles, handing her the frozen treat.

"Thank you, Willy," she smiles.

"So when do you head back to America?" he asks her.

"At the end of this month," she replies.

"That's in like 3 weeks," he replies in sudden realization.

"Yeah, I don't wanna leave, but my summer classes end this month," she replies.

"You can stay with me if you want so you don't have to leave back right away," he explains

"I'll think about it," she replies, glad he offered her to stay longer.

The following night, Will and Maddie are cruising through the city in his car with the roof down, screaming the lyrics to songs on the radio. It's then that she realizes that she's in love with William Nylander and the thought of that alone scares her.

At one moment, Will lowers down the music and grabs her hand.

"Listen Maddie, I've been thinking about something for a while now and I can't hold this in any longer," he starts, making her heart race.

"You can tell me anything, Will," she reassures him, squeezing his hand.

"I'm falling in love with you and I don't know what to do," he replies sheepishly.

"God I've been wanting to hear you say that for a while now because I'm in love with you and I've been feeling like this for a while now," she replies, causing him to smile.

"I'm so glad you feel the same. So, would you be my girlfriend? I know the distance will be hard especially once hockey seasom starts with me in Toronto and you in school in America. But I'm willing to make it work because you're so worth it," he explains, causing tears to form around her eyes.

"Yes, I would be your girlfriend!" she squeals, before leaning over to kiss his cheek.

A week later, Maddie decides to stay an extra two weeks in Stockholm, to spend more time with Will before having to head back to America for the start of another semester in college. They spend the last couple weeks together as much as possible, dreading when they'll have to separate. Eventually, her Swedish adventure comes to an end and she heads back to America. However, that doesn't signal the end of their relationship. Through faith, good will, and love, they manage to pull through  and make it work, even with the long distance; proving that sometimes all you need is love and determination and maybe one of the sweetest men in the entire world.
