It had been a couple of days now, since the interview. 5, to be exact. They still haven't called, and I'm honestly trying not to freak out, but am also freaking out at the same time. Ugh. I'm gonna be the biggest fool if I thought I did so well and they actually end up not hiring me. I had another smaller interview scheduled the same day but cancelled it because this one was bigger. I mean - it's national.

It's also been a couple days since the Cole incident. He hasn't texted me or showed up anywhere, so I think I'm in the clear. I hope, at least. Thanksgiving is also on Thursday, and it's now Monday. I'm so fucking stressed out.

I decide to go to the gym, needing to relieve some stress. My apartment complex obviously isn't that nice, but it does have its own small gym. It's nice, for what it is.

I change into a pair of yoga pants and a t-shirt, throwing my hair into a ponytail. Once I get to the surprisingly empty gym, I decide to start off by jogging on the treadmill. I jog for 10 minutes and then walk for 15, and repeat that process twice. I'm sweating by the end of the session, and sit down for a water break.

As I'm checking my phone, someone walks into the gym. It's Cole. I immediately stand up, and watch him as he stares at me, walking closer towards me. What the fuck is my life.

"What are you doing here?" I spit, noticing his work out clothes. What?

"Working out, what does it look like?" He bites back sneakily, his blonde greasy hair pushed up messily.

"Don't play games with me," I say, rolling my eyes.

"This is my new apartment, darling," he smiles, knowing that he's irritating me. He knows it.

"You're fucking kidding," I laugh, not even believing him. Is he insane? You literally have to be insane to move across the country into the same damn apartment complex as your ex girlfriend, then one that you left.

"No, I'm not. Why so angry?" He asks, and I try my best not to push him onto the workout equipment.

"I'm angry because you're annoying as fuck and are now living in my apartment complex when I told you that I wanted nothing to do with you. Do you even have a job?" I continue to laugh. My life is a fucking joke.

"I do, actually. I work as an intern at a finance company. Do you?" He fires back, and I stutter a little, before he chuckles.

"That's what I thought. Fending for yourself off of your little boy-toy's money, I see?" He chuckles some more.

I breathe heavily, not even knowing what to respond. He knows that's not true, he's just trying to piss me off. I can't let him succeed.

"Yeah, you got me! I only love Harry for his money, what can I say?" I smile sarcastically. He looks flabbergasted, obviously not knowing how to respond to that.

I look down to his card and keys, seeing that he's on floor 12. Thank God it's not on my floor.

"I know you want me back, Avery. It's so obvious," he says, staring at me with his demon filled eyes.

"Actually, I don't. Your ego is just too big to admit it," I say, grabbing my bag and heading towards the door. I decide not to let him win, and walk out.

"Think whatever you want to think, but don't come crying to me when Harvey breaks your heart!" He yells across the gym, and I laugh. He definitely knows that it's Harry, not Harvey.

"Wouldn't dream of it!" I yell back, and shut the gym door, sighing. I quickly walk to the elevator, and go up to my floor.

After entering my apartment, I set my stuff down and call Harry.
