"Kayla! Can you not just admit that we're not going to find any damn Thornton chocolate bars at 8pm in New York?" River puffed, as I dragged him forward my the hand.
What was he on about? Throntons weren't even chocolate bars. He was giving me more and more reasons why he needed to try a Thorntons chocolate. "Shh, we'll find one," I ushered encouragingly, more to myself than him.
I momentarily regretted using up all my data on Instagram. "Don't they have an Asda here?" I ask him, "Or Walmart, whatever you call it."
He crinkled his eyebrows, "Uh, probably?" I sighed loudly. He wasn't being very helpful. I paused on the street as a group of girls, probably going out pass by. Was I really going to do this?
Hell yeah. I stopped the one with the fur coat. "Excuse me, um do you know if there is any Walmart here?"
When she smiled at me, I praise the lord for helping me pick the nice one. "Oh, there's one at the end of this-"
The rest of her friends burst out giggling, "Why do you need to go Walmart at the middle of the night?"
I looked at my watch. I wasn't a party animal but I was pretty sure that 8.30pm wasn't the middle of the night.
River stepped forward crossing him arms, grinning. "Because we're trying to find Thornton chocolates."
A few of them shoot him an odd look probably wondering what he's on about whilst the rest of them eyed him like a flipping candy cane before giggling. Again.
One of them steps forwards laughing with her friends crazily, "I'll be your Thorntons."
My face morphed into one of mortification and shock. To my surprise, River looked partially stunned and before he could do anything wreckless, I mouthed shut up at him just as he went to laugh. He gestured zipping up his mouth.
All of a sudden, the nice one's eyes narrowed as she stepped towards River. "Hang on a minute, you look familiar." I held my breath as she surveyed him.
I wait.
Uh oh.
"Oh my fucking god!" She screamed as I winced. Huh, she didn't seem like one to swear. "Is that- is that River Romano?"
River silently squealed with joy behind me, as I shook my head. "No, it's um... his twin brother um... Larry."
I looked at him briefly as he widened his eyes at me, horrified, "Larry? Really?"
