"Mckayla! It's me, Joel. We need to sort out the edits for tomorrow. Is it alright if I come in?"
I panicked, turning my head around the room wildly, whilst desperately trying to think of an excuse for River being here.
"Uh, I'm sorry Joel but I'm sick. I'm in bed," I coughed for emphasis at the end as River looked at me in disbelief before saying loudly, "I'm sorry babe but I think Harley could have coughed better than that."
How dare he insult my coughing skills?
"Shhh, shut up," I hissed as him.
"It's alright, I don't mind. I won't be long. I know we have a long day tomorrow, Mckayla," he replied from outside as I sighed, feeling horrible.
He began to swing open the door as I pulled my hair out. How the heck am I supposed to hide a drunk River when I'm supposed to be ill?
I'd throw him in the bathroom but it happened to be near to where Joel was standing.
I thought fast.
"Fuck it," I whispered before grabbing him and throwing him under the duvet with me, making sure that his head is covered. I gritted my teeth as I hear River snigger.
"Naughty naughty. First a kiss and now-" I pinched him.Joel walked in, taking a look as me. "Oh god, you look really ill actually. Have you taken paracetamol?"
Mentally, I applauded myself, glad that I look 'ill' without a bit of make up.
"Yeah, I took one earlier."
River wrapped his arms around me under the blanket as I heard him whisper. "I think I saw a spider."
Because there was totally going to be a spider in the bed of a 5 star hotel. He wrapped his arms around my bare torso where my top had rises up a tad. I vaguely feel his fingernails graze against my skin as he unknowingly searched for a freaking spider. "Shit."
"Did you say something?"
"Nope. Nothing. Nada."
"Ooh! That should go in the Guinness book of record. Mckayla lies to the poor little blue eyed angel-"
"Shut up!"
"I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?"
