I sat on a large log that sat behind the Harry's small cabin. My hands were starting to ache as I was attempting to scrub the dirt and grime that covered his clothes.

"When was the last time you washed your clothes?" I huffed.

"Only about a week ago." He grunted as he swung the ax, splitting a log in half.

That was definitely very attractive.

"I mean like a good wash, where you got the stains out, not just the smell." I raised a brow, holding the shirt up. "If I scrub anymore I'm gonna put a hole right through this."

"I forgot how nice it is having a woman around." He chuckled, using his hankie to wipe the sweat off his face.

"We'll get used to it Mr. Styles. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon." I smiled as I stood up, hanging the wet shirt from the clothesline.

"I was down in town the other day." Harry started.

"Oh really?" I mumbled, concentrating now on a pair of trousers.

"I saw that girl, Jamie. She was bothering me about ya." Harry took another wack at the wood.

"Jamie?" I looked up, trying to remember if I knew a Jamie.

"That lass from the barn raising. The one that tried asking me to dance with her." A look of disgust prominent on his face.

"You mean Jane?" I laughed.

"Yeah. Jan. That was her name." He smirked.

"Well now you're just being a pest." I shook my head.

"Am I? Anyhow, I bumped into her at the trading post. I was in the middle of a trade with Joey and she just interrupted us, and began bombarding me with questions about you." Harry placed the ax down and rested his hands on his hips, "Harry how's that girl doing that you said you weren't courting? Harry are you even interested in her? Harry, Harry, Harry." He spoke in a girlie voice, mocking Jane.

I let out a laugh. "Wow. She sounds just like that." I hung his trousers on the line, and sat down, pulling out a pair of pants.

"What do we have here?" I teased, holding up the article of clothing.

"Very funny. I never asked you to wash my dirty pants Adaline." Harry stated as a smile grew on his lips. "But anyway, it felt nice to tell her that I actually am courting you." A satisfied smirk rested on his face as he picked up his ax.

"Look at you. Harry Styles, courting a girl." I looked at him.

"Never thought I'd see the day." Louis came into view as he spoke, a smile on his face.

"Tomlinson. You've been in this neck of the woods quite a bit lately. I'd think it has something to do with that gal standing behind ya." Harry closed one eye and stuck his tongue out, pointing his finger at Felicité.

"Oh Harry I've noticed you've actually bathed for the first time in awhile and I'd think it has something to do with that gal sitting there washing your clothes." Louis shot back.

"Nice to see you Louis." I chuckled.

"Nice to see you as well. I see Harry's already put you to work?" He teased.

"Now that was all her doing." Harry swung his ax, lodging it into the base of the tree he'd been chopping wood on. "She's been complaining my clothes look too dirty. So she went inside and gathered all my clothes." He gestured towards me.

"I'm not going to be courting a man who looks like he doesn't know what bathing is." I folded my arms.

"Already fighting like a married couple." Felicité smiled. "Adaline could I speak with you for a moment?"

I looked at her questioningly. "Of course." I dropped what I was doing and wiped my hands on my apron, and rolled my sleeves down, following her.

"What do you need to speak with me about?" I asked once we were out of earshot from the boys.

"Nathan stopped by earlier."

"What?" Anxiety coursed through my body as the sentence left her mouth.

"Louis stopped by to see Jacob and I. While we were speaking in the kitchen there was a knock. I answered the door and he was standing there, asking for you. I told him I didn't know where you were. Louis was asking who he was after he left and I just told him he was a cousin of ours. I knew you wouldn't want him to know. But I immediately told him we had to come here. Mother has Freddie and Jacob. But you need to come back so we can figure out what to do Adaline."

I remained quiet, the reality of what was happening spinning through my head.

"Adaline we have to go." Felicité urged.

"He's supposed to be gone. How did he find me?" I breathed.

"I don't have the answers right now but we have to go. Tell Harry mother needs you." She grasped onto my arm, pulling me back towards Harry.

We quickly made our way to the back of the house where Louis and Harry were talking.

"I have to go." I explained. "My mother needs me." My breathing was heavy, I felt as if a large weight had been placed on my chest.

"Okay, is everything alright?" Concern grew on Harry's face.

"We have to go." Felicité tugged on my arm, turning me around.

"Felicité does this have something to do with that man who came to the door?" Louis asked, him and Harry trailing behind us.

"What man?" Harry's voice was laced with concern.

"No. We'll see you later all right?" Felicité was trying her best to keep her composure, as mine was falling apart.

"I can get the wagon and take you back, it'll be faster that way?" Harry offered.

"We're okay." My older sister was now getting frustrated.

"Are you sure?" Harry grabbed my arm, stopping me from walking any further.

"Harry let me go! I said my mother needs us!" I yelled, immediately feeling bad the moment the harsh words left my mouth.

Everyone grew quiet as I spun around and began running down the dirt path leading to me house, my older sister close behind me.

Next chapter bout to get cray.
