This is how I imagine Adaline and her family's cabin would look like. In the back right where you can kinda see a door would be where the parents would sleep, and upstairs would be where Adaline and Felicité would stay. Obviously it wouldn't have any electricity.

Word Count: 2123

Felicité and I hurried down the dirt path, weaving through the woods as well in hopes to get home faster. There was no slowing down to catch our breath. Through the thick mass of trees we saw our small cabin, and rushed through the front door.

"Adaline pack your things." My father spoke the moment we opened the door.

Harry and Louis stood beside him and my mother.

"What?" Felicité spoke before I could. "She's leaving?"

"Until we can figure out why he's here, yes. Adaline, start gathering your things." His voice was strained.

"How did you get here?" I turned to Harry.

"I told you taking the wagon would be faster." He spoke.

"We'll explain everything after you pack your things." My father repeated.

"But dad-" I was unable to finish my sentence before he raised his voice.

"Now Adaline!" He pointed towards the stairs.

I hesitated before nodding and quickly making my way up the ladder.

Knelt down in the small loft as I grabbed a small bag and began shoving as many things as I could into it.

"Just go anywhere you know of that is hidden or hard to get to." I heard my father say.

I couldn't hear anymore as I began to sob, dropping the bag that I had been holding in my hands. Soon I felt my mother beside me.

"Adaline darling, it's all going to be okay. I know this is scary. I know this isn't what you want to be doing but you have to for your safety. You'll be safe with Harry and his friends."

"Harry?" I choked.

"It'll look too suspicious if your father takes you somewhere. If he shows up again we're telling him you've married and we haven't heard of where you've moved to yet." She explains.

"Where is Harry taking me?" I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"We're not sure yet. His friends are going to go there with you to help you get up there. They'll come back down and let us know where you are when we know you're somewhere safe." She reaches up and brushes my hair from my face.

"Adaline I know this isn't ideal, my father and I aren't too fond of the idea of you two going off alone in the mountains but we have no other choice."

I nodded, closing the bag and climbing down the ladder. When I stood, everyone's eyes were glued to me.

"Do you have everything?" Felicité asked me, Louis holding onto her.

"As much as I could get." I shrugged.

"Adaline I know this is sudden and scary. I really dislike the idea of you and Harry off alone together. But there's really no other choice. That boy, he knows where we are. And we don't know what he'll do. He's done terrible things in the past. And I won't let that happen again." My fathers voice cracked. "I'm not sure how long this will last. But for now this is how it has to go. You and Harry will leave, if he comes back, we'll tell him you've married and we aren't aware of where you are. If anyone from town asks either we'll tell them the same. If he finds you two, which I pray he doesn't, Harry please protect her with your life."
