"Googleplier." She called out. The bot immediately went to her side, staying stoic as he spoke.
"What can I do for you?"
"Go onto Amazon and order me some highly rated, high quality PC parts."
"Now searching Amazon.com for requested items."
He paused for a moment, and she was able to hear the gears and systems inside of him frantically start up. He was searching for the answer. Of course, she was doing this mostly just to see if he could even order things online, but she had assumed so anyhow. After all, he was connected to all sorts of social media platforms.
A transparent screen appeared in front of Googleplier, which gave her the ability to look at the cart that he created. In the list were several necessary items that he had picked out, as well as the wiring and hardware required to build a PC.
"Are you satisfied with the choices I have made?" He asked, proud of his ability to slightly override his own systems. Back at Google, they had refused to program him to connect to certain online platforms because of the high risk that he created with having that kind of access. But he was more intelligent than they initially thought.
Even so, a tingle of humanity slightly remained in him. He could feel it. The programming for pride ran through him, which caused him to uplift his lips at her answer.
"Yes. I am highly satisfied with your work, Googleplier."
She seemed to appreciate the deed that he did for her, which made his gears churn. He wasn't just a robot, as she was testing. He would make sure that she wouldn't find out, if he could help it.
"Choose same day shipping at check-out, Google." She spoke, turning on her heel to retreat into her office, and clear screen disappeared from existence.
Although Googleplier was a robot and was set by default to perform different commands, he still had a level of independence surging through his wiring. But at this rate, he would never be able to perform tasks automatically. At least, not without her permission.
He had to try to grab her attention, but hopefully get to her when she was semi-busy. She had to give him root access, Otherwise, there would no longer be improvement in his ability to perform tasks.
Googleplier turned towards her, carefully watching as she walked into another room. What was she up to?
Following his dulled instincts, Google carefully and quietly followed her previous steps until he stood at the doorway. Luckily, she had left the door open - which allowed him to look in without causing interruption.
She was sitting at a cluttered desk, that of which consisted of spare parts, wires, and hard drives for the most part. Googleplier kept his countenance composed and neutral as he spoke to her as she faced away from him.
"Could I be of assistance?"
Her head whipped around, suspicious and surprised to see her A.I. standing in her doorway. She scowled at the bot before returning to the task of de-cluttering her space. After all, she needed to make room for the new shipments.
"Have you ordered those items yet?"
Google's systems went array, causing him to tense up slightly. He had forgotten. She had asked him to complete a task, but he had ignored her request. Although he hated being treated like a robot, he quickly completed the shipment in order to comp with her wishes. She couldn't know about his faults. She couldn't know about his flaws and failures.
"Of course." He replied quickly, not enjoying the doubtful look on his owner's face. She grumbled slightly as she looked down at her phone.
"It says here that the order was completed less than one minute ago. How do you explain this, Google?"
