"I am assuming that you would like to explore your surroundings?"
(Y/n) smiled at his correct inquisition, pressing a button to take the elevator back down to the lobby.
"Of course. I'm interested to see what they offer."
Googleplier nodded in understanding, the both of them blankly staring at the retractable doors as they felt the contraption begin to lower itself.
A silence overwhelmed the tiny space, but it was in no way discomforting. In fact, it was peaceful. Amidst the busy life that the female engineer seemed to have, she truly enjoyed the moments of quiet that rang through her ears. It was her favorite type of music, after all. It gave her mind time to correctly assess her situations, and most importantly, wind down.
She always felt anxious about the fact that one mistake could ruin her career, but she tried to brush it off whenever her mind thought of the possibility. She was living in very good conditions with amazing support from her management. So, why should she cancel out their generosity by doubting their intentions? They obviously had the best in mind for her and everyone else around her - including their consumers. They cared, and it always showed.
She took a deep breath in and out, trying to steady her thoughts regarding the unknown. It was irrational for the girl to assume the worst when everything was obviously in the best place that it could be.
Without warning, the elevator abruptly stopped its movement, causing her to crash into the A.I. next to her. From the force of her accidental attack, Googleplier went down with her as well. She opened up her eyes after she fell, now finding herself on top of Googleplier. A blush quickly dusted her cheeks as she scrambled to get up, managing to do so within a few seconds. She tried to ignore what had just happened, so she instead simply stared at the now open door that the elevator crash had caused.
"W-What happened?" She stuttered, facing away from him to cover up her embarrassment.
"From what I can tell, it was simply a malfunction within the elevator's wiring. I can repair-"
"Wait."
(Y/n) slowly walked out of the elevator, seeing as it was firmly held on the floor it accidentally landed on. A blue glow drew her out of the machinery, and she subsequently followed its light.
"... Where are we?"
Googleplier walked behind her, the two completely abandoning the elevator altogether. The darkened place was only lit up by the cyan rays of light that shone to the left of them, which caused them to turn in that direction. They heard the elevator ding behind them, signaling that the elevator was called elsewhere.
Once traveling towards the light, she immediately noticed the many closed off room that held numerous types of databases and electrical equipment. It was fascinating to her engineering eyes, but it also confused her. Why was this place so dark and abandoned? It was obvious that they were using the technology in here, so why was it left by itself?
The two walked down the hallway cautiously, not completely trusting the silence that rang through the floor. Although it was a peaceful noise for the most part, now it was simply becoming unnerving.
"This is a restricted floor. It seems that they use it to create back-up's and control their technology from afar."
"But why is no one here?"
"That answer, I am not aware of."
Her eyes narrowed as she approached the end of the hallway that led to a metal door. Unlike the rest of the door, there was a small section of glass to look through and see the insides. Curiosity getting the better of her, she approached the door and peered into the glass.
