I looked at the box in front of me. 

An invitation to the Mikaelson ball in Mystic Falls. 

I rolled my eyes and called Rebekah. 

Rebekah "Alexa, my dear, did you get my invitation?"

Me "of course"

Rebekah "are you coming?"

Me "i don't know"

Rebekah "please"

Me "they are going to be there"

Rebekah "i know"

I took a deep breath "fine. Only for you"

Rebekah squealed "yay!!"

I hung up. 

Next day. Night. Mystic Falls. 

I walked into the mansion. They did a great job with the ball. everything looked beautiful. I looked around. I saw Rebekah walking to me. 

I smiled "Hey, Beks"

She smiled "Alexa"

She hugged me. I hugged her back. 

Me "you did a great job"

Rebekah smiled "thank you"

Suddenly we heard glass clinking. 

Rebekah "Elijah is gathering us all together"

She grabbed my hand and we walked to the staircase. We stopped in the middle of the stairs. 

I saw Kol and Nik making their ways to us. Nik walked behind me ad Kol stopped in front of me. 

Elijah "Welcome. Thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom"

They all made their way to the ballroom. 

I looked next to me but Bekah was already gone. Elijah walked to me. I smiled at him.

Elijah smiled "Alexa, it#s been a while"

i smiled "Hello, Elijah"

Elijah "would you like to dance"

He offered me his hand. I took it and we walked to the dance floor. we began to dance. 

Me "so, tell me, Elijah, ho have the past 900 years been?"

Elijah "we were running from father"

Me "I heard about his death. It was Nik's doing, wasn't it?"

He nodded. 

Elijah "you got under their skin, Alexa."

I sighed "I've never meant to do so, Elijah, trust me"

Elijah nodded "i know. But you have to chose. you know that"

I nodded. 

Elijah "Nik has an eye on someone. Caroline. He likes her"

I smiled knowing what he was getting at. 

Me "thank you, Elijah"

He nodded and spun me around. I landed in Kol's arms. He smirked. 

Kol "Alexa, darling, nice of you to join us tonight"

I rolled my eyes "Kol"

Kol smirked "how is my favorite Original? "

I smiled "Good."

Kol"how long has it been? 30-70 years?"

I corrected him"900 years"

Kol "feels like yesterday you left us"

I sighed "Kol"

Kol "I'm not mad even though i must say you hurt my feelings?"

Me "Theni must say that it won't happen again"

Kol "what are you getting at?"

I smiled.

Kol smirked "darling?"

I nodded "yes?"

Kol chuckled and kissed me. I kissed back.
