Chapter 1: 'You look incredible'

Present day
Alice's POV

I decided to not only loan Betty the truck, I also decided to drive her. I could have let her go with Jughead but honestly, I could not wait to see FP again. It has been ages. Well, not litteraly but at least Hal and Betty think it has been a while.
'Dad!' Jughead walked up to him and gave him a tight hug.
'Hey Betty.' FP said. Oh god, that raspy voice of his.
'Hi Mr. Jones!'  She answered politely.
'Alice!' He said, he hadn't seemed to notice me before.
'Is it true what they say about men who have just been released from prison, FP?'
'What do they say?'
'That they're incredibly sexually frustrated.'
'Mom, what..' Betty said in awe as she and Jughead got into the car.
I smirked at FP without them noticing. He smiled back, once again I got lost in his darkbrown eyes.
'Alright let's go. Seatbelts please.' I said as we drove off.
We decided to stop by Pop's on our way home. I ordered my usual and FP's favorite things from back in the day.
Pop brought us our food when FP noticed that I still remembered his favorite meal. 'Ah curly fries, a burger and a chocolate shake. You remember..' He said.
'Well I guess you must've spent a lot of time together if you still remember his usual meal?' Betty asked me.
'Oh it was just a guess honey.' I tried to sound convincing. She just nodded.
See the thing is, when FP and I are around other people we unintentionally use this defense mechanism. We give each other snarky comments and pretend like we don't like each other. At least I hope he also pretends.. I do.
'So, FP, what are you planning on doing with all your free time?' I asked. 'Are you still going to be in the Serpents?'
'Actually no, - which surprised me - I am going to retire from the Serpents and find a real job. In fact, I am going to ask Pop for one. Heard they need a waiter.'
'And what about your drinking?'
'I joined the AA, warden Alice.'
I was completely shook so I took a sip of my strawberry shake. Is FP really trying to better his life?

Back at home Betty ran up to me as I was resting on my bed. 'Mom, remember the retirement party for FP? I'm going with Jughead. I was wondering if you'd want to come. You were a Serpent after all..'
I hestitated and answered her with a yes. 'On one condition.' I added. 'What's that?' She asked.

'Let me get dressed first..' I said as I remembered this one box in the back of my closet. I walked to my room, grabbed the box filled with memories and placed it on my bed. 'Mom, what's that?' Betty asked. 'Well, those are my Serpent clothes. We have to dress for the occasion.' I grabbed my leather jacket, a top, a mesh shirt and a black skirt.
'Mom, no, I am not wearing that!'
'Fine then, at least I tried.' I said as I walked to the bathroom to change.

I pulled into the parkinglot of the Whyte Wyrm and sent Hal a text that said: 'Gonna have a girlsnight with Betty, don't wait up. x'
I looked in the mirror of my car and touched up my makeup.
'You ready mom?' Betty asked.
'Sure, let's go.'
We walked and, didn't notice FP anf Jughead standing at the bar until I heard Betty jell his name. 'Jughead! Over here!'
We walked up to them as Jughead answered: 'Hey, you look great.'
'Thanks Juggy!' Betty said as she gave him a peck on the lips. She hugged FP.
'Hey Alice.' FP gave me a kiss on the cheek and whispered 'You look incredible.'
I just smiled at him.
'Wanna get a drink?' Hog Eye asked me.
'Sure!'
'Tequila, straight up, hold the worm.' He said.
'Right!' It's been such a long time since I've been here but he still remembers, I love these people. I took a shot.
Without noticing, I was standing alone at the bar. I decided to take a look around and noticed that Betty and Jughead were nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly someone covered my eyes with their hands. 'Oh my god!' I said as it had scared me.
'Who am I? Guess.' I recognized his voice immediately.
'Forsythe Pendleton Jones!'
'Well that was quick!' He said, turning me around so I was facing him.
'Yeah, I don't think anyone else would've done this here.' I giggled.
'I've missed that smile of yours, Alice.'
'FP..' I said not wanting to admit that I had missed him too.
'I know, I'm sorry Alice. You know what your presence does to me.' He smiled, still flirting with me. I smiled too. What else could I do? I am married.
'Yes, I certainly remember...'
'Alright Alice, I have a proposal for you.' He said, making me wonder what he meant.

'Let's get out of here.'

'What?'
