~

I wake up to the sound of silent cries and muffling noises, along with the beeping of some machine. My head is pounding and my eyes flutter open as I take in my surroundings.

White walls, white sheets, light blue chairs and large annoying beeping machines. A hospital? The memories start flooding back, cheer tryouts, lauren, myself falling. Was it really that bad that I've landed in the hospital?

"Oh my god Tris! You're awake!" Christina yells as she notices my eyes flutter open.

"Of course I'm awake, why wouldn't I be?" I ask, I just hit my head on the pavement, it's not like I was in a coma.

"You were in a coma." Zeke speaks up

well fuck me.

"How long have I've been asleep?" I asked, not only am I confused I'm irritated. Everyone is in this room..besides Four.

"Weeks," Uriah piped up "you've missed most footballs games and prom. We didn't go either and the season is over. We couldn't knowing you were here and there was a small chance of you waking up." All so quickly a body starts walking in the room.

"Is she awake ye- what the hell?! I thought you were going to get me when she woke up?" Four.

"Chill Four, she just woke up." Lynn says from the other side of the room.

"You gotta calm down Four, we would have told you." Said Marlene and she went and stood by Shauna.

I'm just silently sitting here as they all bicker. Awkward.

"Hey guys, I'm really tired considering I just woke up from a coma. Could I have..urm some space?" I asked. I feel really shitty because even though they've been here, and according to Lynn my mom, step dad, and Caleb haven't. Might as well just move out.

All of them file out except Four. All of a sudden a pinching sensation comes from my chest. I look down and notice my locket. My locket that I've worn since I've left NY.

"Hey are you okay?" Four asks as he notices my discomfort.

"Yah, my locket, it's just pinching me skin." I say. His eyes meet mine once more. His hand comes up and slowly but softly wipes over my cheek, his fingers playing with a slight strand of hair.

"Can I see it?" He asks, his voice barely a whisper

I nod, not seeming to be able to use my voice. I lift the locket from my chest where it previously laid. I opened it revealing the photo of Tobias and I as children in New York, we nearly 12. The photo was of him kissing my cheek and we lay on our stomachs. My dad took the photo. I miss him, Tobias.

"It's a picture of my old friend Tobias, we were in New York." I look up to get an answer out of Four but the only thing I saw was his eyes, wide and staring into mine. His mouth slightly parted.

"Be-Beatrice?" He asks, his eyes still wide and full of hopefulness

"Yes, that's my real name." I laugh still not understanding

"Beatrice.." He whispers once more, his eyes traveling back down to the locket.

My eyes widen, realization setting in, the reason he keeps saying my name. I immediately sit up in my bed taking his hand in mine.

"Tobias?" I ask, needing clarification from him that it's really name. Instead of getting an answer I get an action, it's true what they say. Actions speak louder then words.

Tobias and his perfect lips crash into mine, startling me. He pulls back just as quick as he placed his lips on mine.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done that I'm so sorry." He keeps rambling on and on and on.

"Tobias stop." I said, he had to stop. "Nothing is wrong, it's just, you and I. We haven't talked in years, and I just moved here. We might not even be good for eachother. I like you, but at the same time I don't want you to look at me and see preteen me or see back scars me. We have to take it slow..till I'm ready."

"Tris..you are beautiful, brave, loyal and downright fucking fun. I'll wait, but if there's one thing I know, it's that my feelings haven't changed." I smiled at him, looking at him up and down before finally placing my lips on his one last time. "I know."

~

"thank you Tobias, for driving me home." I say as we drive onto my driveway.

"anything for you." He says smiling gently at me

Tobias

Fuck me. I don't want to push her into anything she doesn't want, so I'm going to take things slow. For her. That's why I'll take her on a date, a nice, simple date where we can work things out. I take her inside to her bedroom where she can rest.

"Here is some ibuprofen and some water." I say as I hand her the two objects from my hands.

"I don't want your pity." She says as she takes the two items. Pity? I don't pity her.

Well here goes nothing.

"Tris, I know you think I pity you. I understand that you are in pain but I don't pity you. I promise you."

"Promise?" She says as her eyes tear up and her body shakes.

"Tris, to show you how much I care. Go on a date with me. Tonight after I get out of school. Please."

She looks at me as if she is uncertain about answering, as if she's afraid to say yes.

"Tris?" I ask once more, terrified of her answer

She looks up at me, finally making eye to eye contact, "yes" she says as she sits up.

"Yes?" I ask again making sure I wasn't making anything up.

"Yes" she says once more, finally giving me a smile so large it reaches her ears.

"Tonight, I'll pick you up after school. If there are any problems call me, Uriah or Zeke. Don't get yourself in trouble." She smiles again and laughs as if there's no tomorrow.

"Goodbye Tobias." She says as she gives me one last lingering kiss.

"Goodbye."
