Calums POV

I took a deep breath and rang her doorbell. I could hear her footsteps echoing from inside the house. Ii ruffled my black hair again- don't worry , I'm not a guy slut, it's just a habit.
The door opened and I was amazed. She looked beautiful. Rachel's brown hair was piled up in a messy bun on top of her head and she was wearing the cutest green skirt.
I grinned widely and she do the same back.
"Hey" she stuttered
I was amazed that she sounded as nervous as I was.
"Hey Rachel. Come on out!"
She smiled the most beautiful smile when I offered to take her hand and lead her to my car.
"So... uh... where are we going?"
"Oh Glad you asked Rach! Oh- uh, wait... ugh... Can I call you Rach?"
She giggled and blushed. I'm pretty sure I did the same.
"Oh... er sure!"
"Well, Rach, we're going first to Nandos, then we are going to Shireville Lake, then we might visit my mum."
She sucked in a breath when I said that last comment.
"Oh... your mum? Are you sure I'm ... er.. close enough to you to er visit your mum?"
"Yeah, sure! She needs a visitor other than me anyway!"
She smiles that beautiful smile of hers and puts on her seatbelt as I start the engine.

"Anything for you?" the waitress said, looking at me, with a glint in her eyes.
Rachel looked a bit uncomfortable and.... jealous?
"Oh, I'll just have a pasta, thanks."
"Anything for you!" she said, giving me a big, flirtatious smile.
I looked away, flattered but embarrassed. I didn't want a waitress to be flirting with me, especially not on my date with Rach.
"And you?" the waitress muttered, disgusted for some reason. She kept on looking Rachel up and down, frowning, but I thought she looked amazing in her blue jeans and baggy white varsity shirt.
"Oh, I'll have the same, thanks."
the waitress walked away, smilin at me again. Rachel snorted, and I smiled at her.
"What?"
"Oh nothing, it's just that she could down her ass-wiggling a little!"
I laughed and high five her.
"Good one!"
We chat and laugh, and eventually, the waitress comes back with two plates of May I say DELICIOUS looking pasta.
I shoved the plate down my throat, not thinking about what Rachel was thinking of me. I looked up, and was completely shocked that she had gulped down more than me.
"Whoa Rach! Fast eating skills!"
she giggled "only when Im hungry!"
She was about to say something, but then stopped. I frowned.
"What?" I ask
"Oh..its nothing, really..."
"Come on Rach, tell me!" I give her my best puppy dog face. She finally gave in and sighed.
"It's just that... ever since I first spoke to you, I've had a feeling that I've seen you before! You know, you look kind of familiar to me."
I nodded. "I've had that felling too."
We grinned and continued shoving pasta down our throats.

"So!" I said after a long silence.
"Tell me about your family!"
She looked at me and grinned.
"Well, my dad, Phil, has looked after me ever since my mum, Andrea, died when I was two. We've been living in Perth in a small flat, and then he decided for us to move here, to Sydney."
There was a very long silence. I had a VERY confused look on my face. I gulped and swallowed. Rachel looked bothered.
"What?" she asked
"It's just.... my mums name is Andrea.. and my dead dad's name is Phil..."
More silence. Rachel's hazel eyes opened wide. Im sure my reflection mirrored hers.
"That can't be just a coincidence... can it?" she asked.
All my feelings suddenly disappeared for her. Something big an icky grew in me. If we WERE related, it means I have been lied I my whole life.
I looked at Rachel. She was crying. Suddenly, so was I.

Rachel's POV

Fuck. fuck. fuck.
How could this be fucking happening?
A tear trickled down my cheek. How could Calum be my brother? It was too much of a coincidence to be true!
How could I ever be in love with my brother!? Suddenly, I felt a gush of reality. All my feelings for Calum had gone. The overwhelming fact that Calum might be related to me took them all away!
I looked at Calum. He was crying too. I reached over to hug him.
I suddenly felt something black, dark, crawling up my spine. ANGER. I have been lied to my entire life. My my fther, the one who I thought I could trust the most! He said my mother had died from cancer, my that they had fucking broken up, and that I had a BROTHER!
We stood there, silent and still, hugging each other for a long time. Calum's voice suddenly piped up.
"Let's go visit my- oops, I mean OUR mother."
I smiled weakly and nodded. We headed towards his Mazda, the shock of the truth sill haunting us.

I walked into the hospital room, holding Calum's hand. I took a deep breath. I was about to see my mum. My mum that I've never seen before.
"Calum, dear, is that you?" a weak voice spoke from the bed.
"Yeah mum, it is."he replied, giving her a hug.
He looked at me and grinned.
"Who's this, dear?"
I looked at Calum, then back at the bed. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek.
"What's wrong, dear. Calum, whys her name?"
"It's rachel, mum."
"Rachel?"
A look of confusion spread across her face.
"Oh...oh...OH..." she murmured as a look of understanding shot her.
"You...you...you're Rachel. My... daughter..."
I just nodded and continued crying. Before I knew it, I was on her arms.
"Hi mum..." I stammered
"Oh rachel.."
