Chapter Thirteen

Rachel's POV

Time had gone so fast this week! We had started hanging out with Aalya and Tina more and more, and even visited their very rich looking home. Seeing Mr James there, or Theo, made is so embarrassed. Their mother, Shailene was beautiful and greeted as very warmly.
Before I knew it, Sunday had come. I felt very nervous an sickly in the stomach. I know I had promise Eileen and everyone to keep away from Calum, but I don't know if I can. I know boys should never come before friends but there was just something about Calum that was really familiar- something I needed in my life.
My phone flashed. It was Calum. My heart started welling up.
The text message read: Hey Rachel. When should I pick you up?"
I texted back: Nows great! C u soon!
I sighed and checked my reflection in the mirror again. Hair? Slightly messy, but okay. Clothes? Slightly ruffled, but good. Deep breath. My phone was ringing again. It was Noelene this time. I picked up.
"Hey Noelene!"
"Hey Rach! I'm just calling to see if you can come over to Miranda's today? Were having another sleepover!"
"Oh er... remember? errr.. my date with Calum is today..."
I heard Eileen curse in the background.
"But I'm telling him I'm not interested, remember?"
"Okay!" her voice brightened.
"So how about I come over at six and still stay the night?"
"Sure!" she replied.
Then I heard the doorbell ring. I sucked in a breath.
"Hey, I gotta go, alright? see you tonight!"
"See ya!" she hung up.
I took a deep breath and headed toward the door.

Calum's POV
(before picking up Rachel)
I took a deep breath before dialing Laynes number. I had never broke up with a girl before, so a sweat broke on my forehead.
"Hello?" She sounded so happy! I didn't know if I could do it.
"Uh hey Layne!"
"Hey sweetie! So what's up?"
I took a deep breath.
"Umm.. Layne, I can't see you anymore."
"What? sorry, I think the connection went off, I thought you just said you didn't want to see me anymore!"
"Umm.. Layne? That is what I said..."
"What?WHAT? WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU BREAKING UP WITH ME?"
I trie to stay calm.
"It's just that with ... my mum being in hospital it's just... too much to handle."
"Okay..." she stutered. "So is that all?"
She was being much too nice for Layne.
"Er... there also might be somebody else I'm .. er... interested in."
I heard her draw in a deep breath.
"FUCK YOU CALUM! I THOUGHT YIU WERE A NICE GUY, BUT IN THE INSIDE, YOUR JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! USING ME UNTIL ANOTHER GIRL COMES ALONG!"
and she hung up.
I took a deep breath. Thank GOODNESS that was over!
Now I had to check up with Rachel. I had almost forgotten about our big date!
I texted: Hey Rachel! When should I pick you up?
She texted back: Nows great! C u soon!
I smiled and hopped into my car.

Noelene's POV

"it's alright Eileen! Rach told us she was telling Calum it's not gonna work, remember?"
She looked up and rubbed her eyes.
"Your right, Noelene . I'm overreacting about nothing!"
"So let's get on with this sleepover!" I heard Aalya say.
Eileen was acting better now, but I could still see no light in her eyes She was still probably thinking of what Rach and Calum were doing right now.
"So let's play truth or dare!" suggested Alex.
"Okay! does anybody have a bottle?"
"Right here!" piped Tina. She went to her sleeping bag and grabbed out an empty water bottle.
"Eileen, you go first!" I urged.
She smiled at me and span the bottle. It landed on Michelle.
"Ohhh!!" whispered Eileen.
Michelle was the best person to give dares to, because she would always do ANYTHING.
"Truth or dare?"
"Uh DUH!! DARE!"
We all grinned.
"I dare you too.... go to Miranda's older brother and invite him to your next birthday party!"
I snickered.
"But my birthday is not in seven months!" Michelle shrieked.
"Exactly. That makes the dare even better!"
"I gotta see this.." muttered miranda, loving the chance to see Michelle and her brother get embarrassed.
Thy came back in a fit of giggles.
"OH MY GOD!" screamed Michelle
"She ACTUALLY DID IT!" shrieked Miranda, still laughing.
"You should've seen Thomas' face! He was all red and blushing!"
"Haha! The best dare ever!" bragged Eileen.
"Okay Noelene, you go next!" suggested Aalya.
I smiled an spun the bottle. It landed on Tina.
"Truth... Or dare....??" I whispered, trying my best to look menacing.
She giggled and whispered truth.
"Okay... are there any boys you're interesting in??"
I heard giggles all around the room.
"Okay... if I tell you, you have to PROMISE by to tell anyone!"
We all started singing "and I cross my heart and hope to die!"
"Okay... Ashton. I really like Ashton."
We burst out laughing.
"Maybe your presence will finally make him get a girlfriend!" I said.
She flushed red and turned away.
"Okay, who's next?"
