Charmed: The Brothers Path

Chapter 2. Chris. Back on Charmed.

We follow Aunt paige downstairs, and downstairs again since we were in the attic and the manner has 2 floors. We go to the living room and aunt Paige gets her cellphone and types a number.

"Piper, they are back." She is talking with our mother. "Yes, it's time for the Charmed reunion". It seems important, a Charmed reunion. "Call Phoebe and come home." She hangs out and sits on the couch. The same couch we've had since we were born, I think since mom was born. The living room, by the way, has changed, since the demonic activity is been low my parents have had time to care about the manner, to care about its aspect, but that may change from now on since "they", I think it's referred to demons, are back. The living room now had a blue color in the walls, it is really bright and happy.

My mom enters the room with aunt Phoebe.

"Hi, were you attacked?" The first time my mom doesn't ask about our exam after we make it.

"Yes, I would say I was attacked" Wyatt answers. I notice his expression is the same after every exam, I could say he hates me for answering all my questions correctly on exams when the highest he's got is three out of ten, I don't blame him for getting them incorrect but there's no reason to hate me. His answer seems like he thinks the demon just wanted to attack him, like he was the center of attention, maybe those are his worries, he was born as the legit boy, the most powerful child the magical world has seen and he feels bad at getting those low scores, that must be the reason why he wanted to leave magical school. I followed him that time and maybe I'm putting more pressure on him by following him, by being part of his low scores, by my knowledge.

"What?" My mom says. I notice she is worried, worried about her little legit child.

"It was just a coincidence Piper" Aunt paige demands.

"How can an attack be a coincidence?" Mom asks back. She uses sarcasm everytime she can.

"I meant Wyatt being attacked, he was going to go out off the attic and the demon attacked and.."

"Because the demon wasn't waiting for him to go out, right?" Mom interrupts sarcastically. "Was he vanquished?"

"We tried but we couldn't. We both now what that means." Aunt Paige answers.

Mom now looks at her worried, why?

"Let's just stop fighting and focus on the reunion" aunt Phoebe says. She has changed her hair again, she is now a brunette.

Mom and aunt Phobe sit next to Paige, who is in the middle. Wyatt and I bring a chair from the dinning table.

"Let's start with a short explanation" Mom stars "We defeated Christy, the Source, and a lot of more demons. But we can't vanquish all evil from the world, you must understand that. We may have thousands of stories about demons we've vanquished but there may be thousands of demons out there, or down there."

"So" Aunt Phoebe continues "We just make clear what you are here for. You were born with a gift, you understand that, right? But gifts don't come without conditions, and yours is to protect people"

Wyatt has the same confused expression than me, not because we didn't know that but because we already do. There must be something behind all this, something they have been keeping from us since a lot of time ago, maybe since the day they defeated Christy. I don't expect Wyatt to assume it.

"Evil is always going to be around guys" Aunt Paige's voice interrupts my thoughts " Always. We haven't trained you for nothing. Evil is always going to be around. Always" I notice an emphasis on that last phrase. Evil is always going to be around. What does she mean?

"If there's something else behind all this you just have to tell us" I demand.

Mom and my aunts stare at me for a while. Then my mother says "We can't hide it for ever"

"I don't think they are ready Piper" aunt Phoebe says.

"We've grown enough to now the dangers that look for us" Wyatt yells. At least he is on my side.

"I think they are" aunt Paige answers.

The three of them stare at us for a minute, I could say they were using telepaty or something to talk with eachother but it is impossible since they don't have that kind of power. Our desperate expressions begging for explanations.

"The day after we defeated Christy we went to the magic school, to put everything in order." Aunt Phoebe starts explaining, she seems worried. "We found some plans to destroy the manner that somebody had made, this person, or this demon had studied the whole structure of the house, even the bathrooms."

"This enemy must be somebody related to us, somebody that has entered the house, somebody that has spent enough time here to know each little part of it." My mom continues " On the back of this plans was a picture in a red circle. A picture of you guys"

"Both of us?" I ask

"Chris, you are as powerful as Wyatt" Aunt Paige answers.

As powerful as Wyatt? The legit Kid? If I am, why didn't they tell me, I have always felt the weakest. I notice Wyatt is staring at me, could he be angry? He's always felt the most powerful of both of us, that made him feel better after failing his exams.

"So this person wasn't looking for our power this time, but he or she was looking for your power." Aunt Phoebe explains "We thought this person was going to execute this plan after the battle with Christy, when we were still weak."

"But that didn't happen" Mom interrupts "And hadn't happened till today."

"That makes no sense" I say" "Why would they let us prepare for this? Why would they let us learn? Explode our powers to the limit"

"And I am not helping" Wyatt demands "I have failed every test."

Aunt Paige is going to answer Wyatt's commentary but I interrumpt "And how do you know that today attack wasn't just another demon attack? I mean, a normal one. No evil plan behind it." I ask

"Because you couldn't vanquish him. He was an upper level demon. Upper level demonds had been off, in the whole world" Mom replies.

"How do you know?" I ask back.

"I asked aunt Paige to check with the elders" She answers. "They confirmed that upper level demons had been off. They also thought they were up to something"

"Still makes no sense, letting us train" I demand

"That's because they are training too. They are getting prepared too." Aunt Phoebe replies.

We all stay in silent for a while. I think they leave us time to think about it, but it is a lot to process. We are in danger, after we thought we weren't.

"After finding out that this plans were from somebody close to the family we started checking" Mom starts explaining again "There was somebody we hadn't seen since we stormed him away"

"Cole" Aunt Phoebe says, with a sad expression.

"We're not sure he is the one that is after you, but is a possibility." Aunt Paige demands.

Cole, a demon aunt Phoebe dated. They even got married. He lost his powers, turning into a normal person, but then got possesed by The Source and almost had an evil boy with my aunt so they vanquished him. He ended up in the waste land, the place where all demons end, but found a way out thanks to his human soul and to the demonic powers he stole there. He tried to go back to aunt Phoebe's life again but she wouldn't let him. I think I know the story very well.

"Let's just vanquish him" Wyatt proposes "Not a big deal"

"You are not understanding Wyatt, he had a lot of demonic powers, he must have a big army to fight you." Aunt Phoebe replies.

"We'll let you go think about it. I know it is a lot to process but everything is going to be just fine" Aunt Paige says.

"Just one thing I would like to tell you guys" Aunt Phoebe interrupts "Don't you ever date a magical creature. I know you were born from that but it's a little bit complicated."

I think that last advice doesn't matter to us. I look at Wyatt and he is angry, I am too. They have known we are in danger all this time but they kept that information.

Everything stays silent for a while till I stand up and go upstairs to my room. I look back to the living room to see Wyatt orbing out of there.
