April 12th, 20XX, 8h00 " Arriving at Watchpoint: Gibraltar " ( Southern Coast of the Iberian Peninsula ) —
The training sessions begin the week after, just when all our equipment were ready to work. I had to get used to my Valkyrie suit again, after all these years not wearing it. I wasn't at ease with the weight of my wings in my back, however, it wasn't long before it didn't bother me anymore.
We teamed up under the supervision of Ana and Jack to begin our training. There was two separate teams; the first one being Zenyatta, Genji, Reinhart, Tracer, Torb and Jack. The second, me, D.Va, Ana, Mei, Pharah and Hanzo. Winston would be providing support from his lab.
The group training consisted in escorting a giant cargo to the Space Landing station, at the very end of Gibraltar. On the way, there would be robots aound the facility to try and slow our progression. The thing is, their projectiles had charges of electricity that shocked on contact. I wasn't quite okay with it at the beginning, but training the hard way closer to a real fight is where we really learn.
The first team went for their training, as we all waited nervously for them to come back. It took a good twenty minutes, the robots being very aggressive and hard to destroy. When our turn arrived, I briefly talked to our group, some being newly members and not fully knowing my role within the team. I placed myself next to Hanzo, to be sure he would understand my role correctly. I know nothing of his battle methods nor his communications in a conflict, but I was said that there was no need for me to question his abilities in combat. But I felt the need to see it with my own eyes.
I took a high voice to be sure everyone heard me.
- Welcome, everyone. Just a few words to explain my role within the team. When you're in need of assistance or your health is degrading, you can call me or Ana in the coms. I can fly almost immediately to any ally in sight with the Valkyrie suit, while Ana can provide support from a distance. When she will heal you, you will sense a weird feeling on your flesh, just like a needle penetrating your skin. But don't worry, this will not last long, and will heal you within seconds. Good luck agents. And communicate.It's the best weapon to win. Rely on each other; we are a team, don't forget that.
Everyone nodded, as we waited for the payload to come back at the beginning of the course. The other team did pretty good, especially with Reinhart's shield.
I just couldn't wait to go. To see everyone putting their abilities to work. I was determined to watch over everybody, but especially Hanzo; I was curious to see his abilities in action. And it wouldn't be long before I had the chance to see them. The payload took back its place, and the other team went inside to watch us on the monitors.
