After party

So, it's official...

I can't believe I'm officially a high school graduate and a uni undergrad....

It's feels great and so surreal...

Char and I both ended up getting honour rolls and I got the math award and Char got the art award.

I'm currently at the school's after graduation party that Char FORCED me to come to. I'm usually not one to go out partying and getting drunk so I'm just here because of Char. I'm wearing a turquoise dress that Char picked out for me...of course (picture above) there's no way I would be able to get this dress. Char looks amazing in her blue floral dress and loose blonde curls.

It feels really great to be finally free from it all. It kinda feels like just yesterday I was a niner (Grade 9) frantically running in the hallways struggling not to be late for class while pushing through all the tall giant looking Grade 12's.

I smile to myself as I think back to that day when I was a newbie to the school and it felt like a maze but now ask me and I can probably name every class and every hallway of that school.

Well, it did help that I had Char from elementary school, so I had a familiar face to have lunch with and go home with...Over the years, we both made new friends but we're still going on strong together...

Char looks so carefree dancing with a guy I recognise from the hallway with a stereotypical red party cup in her hand.

I'm so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realise Bryan standing in front of me.

"Hey" I say, acknowledging his presence.

"Hey" he says back to me standing beside me.

"Is everything okay?" I ask, being a little concerned because something seems off about him.

"Umm, we need to talk" He says quickly and bluntly.

It's a struggle talking over the loud music in hear.

"Right now? this isn't really the best place to talk" I say gesturing to our surroundings of people dancing against each other to the very very loud music. Not that I'm complaining since Selena Gomez's Kill Em with kindness is playing full blast.

I'm a huge Selenator if you haven't already gathered that.

"I'm serious" Bryan says as loud as he can.

"Jeez, okay relax, let's go some place quieter" I say confused at his sudden mood swing.

And guys say girls are melodramatic.

Talk about the irony in that myth.

I wonder what he needs to talk about. He seems really serious. And if you know Bryan and I do, you know he doesn't do serious. He's more of the childish, subtle idiotic type.... Yet somehow he managed to get into Harvard....

We walk until the music can't be heard as much as before and I turn to him holding his hands in mine.

He turns to face me and I swear in all the years I've dated him, I haven't seen him so serious before. So, I rub my hands up and down his to calm him down but that doesn't seem to be working and he seems to tense up at my touch. So quickly I retract my hands from him and wait for him to speak up when he's ready.

I'm so patient, am I the best girlfriend or what?

Finally, he looks like he's actually gonna say something, but if I had known what was going to come next, I would have wished he didn't.

"This isn't working for me" he says and I struggle to understand what "this" stands for. SO just to clarify....

"W-What isn't working, Bryan?"
