When Kaori Itsuka went for a walk that afternoon, she didn't expect to bring a little boy home with her. Nope, not at all.
She just got home from graduating the Academy when it began to rain. She passed the test with flying colors, which was not an easy feat considering she doesn't come from a ninja clan, so it was difficult for her to learn the jutsus and get it right. But after lots of hard work and dedication she was finally a ninja.
She wondered if her parents would be proud of her achievements. Kaori smiled softly, of course they would, she knew that from the bottom of her heart.
She looked out the window at her apartment and decided to go for a walk around the village, she didn't care that it was raining, she loves the rain. It always makes her feel peaceful inside, there is something about rain that makes her feel... free.
She would usually just sit there staring out and drink hot chocolate while reading a book, but today she wanted to walk, to feel the wind against her face. Kaori took her umbrella and opened her door and stepped out of her house.
Kaori was passing by the orphanage when she saw a little boy soaking wet and shivering, she wondered for how long was he there and why hasn't his parents come for him. As she began to walk closer to the boy, she could see that he has blonde hair and whiskers marks...
Wait
Blonde hair and whiskers marks...Kaori stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes widen in surprise and shock, she almost dropped her umbrella in her state of shock.
Naruto Uzumaki. The jinchuuruki of the nine-tailed fox. He was just like her. The hand that was holding the umbrella began to tremble. He was just like her.
She too, is a jinchuuruki.
She knows what it feels like to be hated. She knows what it feels like to be isolated from everybody else. She knows how it feels because she had been through the same thing as he is.
She stood behind him and gently put her umbrella above the small child, protecting him from the rain. She could see that he was surprised and turned around to see who it was. When he saw her, she smiled warmly at him, he flinched, like he expected her to hit him and yell at him like everybody else.
Her smile turned into a sad frown, her eyes soften at the sight in front of her.
She wanted to hold him tight against her and protect him from everything that might hurt him. She vowed that she will take care of him, that she will always always be by his side no matter what. She would be his rock, anything he wanted her to be, someone he could always come to when he feels sad or troubled. And she will always love him, she will never ever leave him.
So she offered him her hand, she watched as the boy stared at her hand confused and it had occurred to her that none of the villagers had showed him kindness, only hatred, and it make her angry at the villagers for treating him like trash.
Her eyes flashes red for a moment before returning to its normal hues. She needs to calm down. She can't let it take control over her no she needs to control it.
Kaori closed her eyes and counted to 10 and took deep breaths, when she was calm enough she opened her eyes, it seems that he hadn't noticed her little episode. Kaori sighed in relief, she doesn't want to scare him.
She could see that he still didn't trust her, so she spoke to him hoping that he will see that she will not hurt him" I'm not going to hurt you" she softly said the boy looked up at her with mistrust, the same eyes she once had. She smiled softly at him, her eyes held warmth in them "I promise" she added truthfully
She could see that the boy slowly putted his hand on hers and she gently tighten her hold on them. They stood up and began to walk back to her apartment and everytime a villager glared at him Kaori would tighten her hold on his hand. After a while she felt him tighten his hold on her hand and she looked at him.
