You and Hiccup had followed Valka to the sea, the entire nest following. Hiccup seemed unsure as to what was happening, but you had a general idea as to what was coming, as you spent twelve years within a dragon nest of your own. "Hey, I—I, I thought we were going to get something to eat?" Hiccup called out to his mother, who took the lead. You flew not far from him, perhaps half a tail-length from Toothless. Cloudjumper rounded, Valka giving her son a cheeky look. "Oh, we are!" She held a hand out for him, and he promptly stopped, you and Astra stopping by his side. She took a glance downwards, before looking up at Hiccup, glancing down again as if to encourage his attention to the waters. You looked down, as did Hiccup, and the dragons. A few manta-ray looking dragons circled the surface, as bubbles rose from the depths.

Suddenly the Alpha crashed through the surface, breaking the surface, thousands of small fish caught in his mouth. With a mighty cry, he shot them upwards into the sky, fish raining upon for the dragons to feast on. Valka watched on as you both looked in awe, laughing at mostly Hiccup's bewildered look. Toothless was awaiting Hiccup's permission to fly off, whilst Astra bolted, making sure to grab as much fish as she possibly could. You snagged a fish yourself and sunk your teeth into the flesh, enjoying a rather juicy catch. This had to be one of the most incredible feedings you had ever witnessed.

As Astra greedily choked down her overflowing mouthful of fish, and as you ate, you both watched Hiccup helplessly cling to Toothless as the Night Fury zipped around, focusing on filling his mouth, similarly to Astra, rather than making sure his rider was still on his back. With a mouthful of fish, Toothless shot you a smug look. Hiccup huffed a laugh and shook his head.

After the nest was fed, Valka led you both to land for your full-bellied dragons to rest, Astra landing, shaking you off rudely and dropping to the icy ground with a groan of satisfaction. You narrowed your eyes as you stood up, brushing snow off your body. Here, she could eat until she was too fat to fly, unlike at home where food was rationed between families. You set yourself beside Hiccup, who had unfurled his map, showing his mother all of his mapped territories he's found over the years, telling tales of each. He looked up, to see his mother mapping the world itself in the snow. She stood proudly, Hiccup looking at it in awe. "Whoa..."

You all watched as Toothless began drawing in the snow with an icicle, twirling and wiggling with his strokes. You smiled, Hiccup glancing up at Valka with a small smile as she laughed. He drew around both Astra and Cloudjumper, both dragons watching him curiously. Cloudjumper watched as his head made a complete circle around him, looking very much like an owl. Poor Toothless finished, releasing his hold on the icicle, only to find it stuck to his tongue.

After freeing the helpless Night Fury from his frozen trap, Valka had led you off the land and into a warm air current, strong enough to let the dragons float with their wings outstretched. Toothless seemed the most excited, looking around energetically. More dragons jumped off the cliff face, opening their wings and being pulled upwards by the current. Hiccup was enchanted by the experience, watching as his mother skillfully moved from one dragon to another, at one point ruffling his hair and moving from him to you, using the ring on Astra's saddle to drop herself onto Cloudjumper. She moved with such grace that it left you winded. You could feel the sentiment radiating off both mother and son, and partially felt excluded as Valka's main attention fell to her son, but you did understand that she hadn't gotten the chance to know him for the past twenty years of his life.

You had grown slightly envious, however. And you tried to justify it as your feelings towards Hiccup, but you knew better than to stop the bonding moment. He did let you have yours with your father, and albeit he didn't like it, he was even willing to let you choose to stay with your father. Your heart clenched. You wouldn't have to willingly accept the fact that he may never want to return to Berk, would you? You knew you couldn't stay with another Alpha, both you and Astra wouldn't be permitted to that. And you didn't feel like you had a place both on Berk or in your home village with your parents. No, if you had to accept the heartbreaking fact that Hiccup wanted to stay with his mother, then you would have to return to your nest and protect it eternally. You didn't know if you were capable of it, but you tried to brace yourself, just in case that choice was made.
