Burned out (A leico fanfic)

Chapter One

Nico's POV

Percy was running towards the beach dragging a very pale Nico behind him. "I can't believe you can't swim, Nico. It's my duty as the son of Poseidon to teach you." Percy said as he start taking his shirt off. Nico gasped seeing Percy's bear chest and stared a little longer then what is socially acceptable. "Like whatcha see." Percy said adding a wink at the end. Does he know... Nico thought to himself his heart hammering in his chest. "I'm just kidding, Nico." Percy said looking embarrassed. Nico sighed in relief. A second longer and I would have had a panic attack, but then Percy would have to help me maybe even do CPR. Nico thought, and immediately hated himself for even considering it. "Hurry up! It won't be light out forever." Percy said gesturing to the setting sun. He really is going through with this. Nico thought sweat starting collect on his palms. He took off his shirt and shorts, so that he was only in his boxers. He looked out at the dark ocean and a shudder crept up his spine. Percy was already in the water, doing long strokes across the waves. Nico couldn't help ,but be jealous of how gracefully Percy moved through the water. Nico was mad at himself for even noticing this. He's in love with Annabeth. Nico reminded himself for the thousandth time. He then started walking down to the edge of the water. Nico timidly put his toes in before backing away from the water. Percy swam in front of where Nico was standing, in waist deep water. "You can get through Tartarus alone, but you can't even get in the water." Percy shouted, over the sound of crashing waves. Nico scowled, and crossed his arms. It's not like I'M the son of Poseidon. Nico thought glaring at Percy. Percy then walked out of the water, and Nico couldn't help but notice how the water dripped down his muscular torso. Nico then shook his head trying to get rid of those thoughts. Percy grabbed his hand, and started pulling towards the ocean. "Percy, What are you doing?" Nico yelled grinding his feet into the sand. Percy turned around, still dragging Nico. "If you get pulled under. I'll save you." Percy said a smile on his face, the orange glow of the sun casting rays onto his brown hair. Nico gasped and stopped struggling, and was pulled into the water. "Uh... Percy I don't want to go where I can't stand." Nico said his pale face tainted with red cheeks. Percy smiled, and nodded. He stopped dragging Nico when the water was at Nico's waist. Nico then started doggy-paddling around, and it was obvious that he had no idea what he was doing. I probably look like an idiot. Nico thought, and was then annoyed at himself for even caring what Percy thought. "Float on your back." Percy said, and Nico then tried, but he kept going under the surface.  "This is stupid. You can't teach a fish to climb a tree Percy!" Nico said, his signature scowl on his face. Percy then moved closer to Nico. "Try again." He whispered in low tone, his sea green eyes focusing on Nico's. Dammit I can't resist that. Nico thought as he got on his back again. This time right when Nico was about to go under, Percy put his hand on the small of Nico's back, keeping him afloat. Nico gasped in surprise. Nico could feel a burst of heat where each finger touched. "Steady your breathing, and relax." Percy said smiling down at him. Nico was so absorbed in trying not to get a boner, that he didn't notice when Percy took his hand away. "Nico look you're floating." Percy said the last rays of sunlight casting strange shadows onto the sea. "Huh!" Nico said and then fell into the water. He stood up and small Percy doubled over in laughter, his face barely visible in the twilight. Why does he have to be so damn attractive? Nico thought to himself as Percy contained himself. "It's getting late. I don't want Annabeth to worry." Percy said before swimming back to shore. Nico stood there for a moment watching the son of Poseidon swim to shore, before dissolving into the shadows.

Leo's POV

Leo took a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped his forehead. It was hot in the blacksmith where Leo spent most of his free time. Suddenly, something appeared out of the shadows, and Leo jumped in surprise. What the hell was that? Leo thought as he started digging around in his tool belt for a weapon. Ever since they got back from the giant war they had all still been on edge. Fighting monsters everyday does that to a person. Nico stepped forward, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "It's just me, Leo." Nico said, and Leo let out a sigh of relief. Leo and Nico had a hung out a lot at camp half blood. Mostly, because everyone else was paired up, and as Leo put it "Us single pringles gotta stick together. I mean nobody eats just on pringle. We are more appetizing together." "It's really hot in here." Nico said using the back of his hand to wipe his forehead,his thick, curly black hair already slicked with sweat. "Sorry, I can't help being so hot." Leo said winking at Nico. Leo had made the journey to Calypso's island, only to see her on the beach making out with another hero. It was not one of his fondest memory's. Leo was crushed, and Nico had been the only one there for him. As a result, Leo had taken a liking to Nico,and Leo had at least tryed to flirt with him on a daily basis. Nico looked flustered and Leo couldn't tell if it was the heat or the flirting. "Your all wet, went for a sunset swim." Leo teased, he knew that Nico couldn't swim. "Percy was giving me lessons." Nico said, smiling at the word "Percy". Leo flet a stabbing pain in his chest that he identified as jealousy. This made him think of that day on Calypso's island. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice the fire blossoming on his palms. "Leo!" Nico yelled, and Leo snapped out of his daze. Leo crushed the fire. Nico looked at him with concerned eyes, and Leo scratched the back of his head, averting his gaze. Leo had gotten a lot better at controlling his power, and only lost control when something was really bothering him. "It's... nothing. Do you want to play video games? I just got a PS4 from the Hermes cabin." Leo said changing the subject. Nico looked hurt,but didn't ask him what was wrong again. "Sure, you won't lose to me." Nico said as he disappeared into the shadows. "I hate when he does that." Leo mumbled before heading upstairs, and into the gaming area

Author's Note

I started a new story, and this one will have multiple chapters. I promise to update when I can, and I will warn you when I have writer's block or I can't update. In case if you were confused each chapter will have one part iln Nico's Pov and one part in Leo's POV. Tell if you do/do not like this writing style because I can always change it if it is not working.
