Nico’s POV
Nico sat up abruptly, his heart pounding. He quickly took in his surroundings. You're ok. You made it out of Tartarus remember. Nico thought, as he felt his fists unclench. Nico realized he was in the infirmary. He looked at the wilted flowers in the vase on the windowsill. How long was I out. Nico thought.
“Please, I just wanna see him.” a voice said from outside, and Nico recognized it as Leo’s.
“How many times do I have to repeat this? Hazel has asked that your visitation time be removed. You're lucky you got so much time the first week.” a girl said, clearly annoyed. Leo’s been visiting me. Nico thought, and he felt the corners of his mouth turn upwards.
“Can you at least tell me why it was removed?” Leo said, and Nico noticed the desperation in his voice.
“I’m sorry, but I am not allowed to say. Now please move out of the way. I need to check on the patient.” the girl, who Nico guessed was a nurse, said before turning the door knob. When she opened the door, she gasped a blush on her checks. Nico looked down and noticed he was shirtless.
“Y-You’re awake.” She said, and Nico heard footsteps bounding down the hall.
“Nico.” Leo said, as he got to the doorway. He looks terrible. Nico thought noticing the bags under his eyes, the stubble on his chin, and the crazy tangles of his hair. (crazier than normal) The nurse then grabbed the door knob, and tried to push the door closed.
“You can see him when he is released.” She said, but Leo pushed back on the door. The nurse tried to close the door, but Leo was stronger. The door swung open, and Leo walked in. Leo opened his mouth to say something, but someone hit him in the back of the head before he could speak.
“That boy won’t take no for an answer.”Hazel muttered, as Leo fell to the ground unconscious. What the hell is going on! Nico thought, his mouth open in disbelief. When Hazel saw that Nico was conscious, a smile brighter than Zeus’s lightning bolt spread across her face.
“I’ll give you two some time alone.” The nurse said, her voice faster than Hazel’s horse. The nurse hurried out of the room, and closed the door behind her. Nico could hear the sound of someone being dragged down the hall.
“I was so worried. How are you feeling.” Hazel asked as she crawled into the bed next to Nico.
“I’m fine. How long was I out?” Nico said, thinking about how the gash on his chest was completely healed.
“Two weeks.” Hazel said. It’s funny how when I left camp half blood nobody cared. Nico thought, remembering how he had run away from Percy years ago.
“Why did you take away Leo’s visitation?” Nico asked, staring into Hazel’s eyes. Hazel looked away.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Hazel said, fidgeting with her hands. What is with her. Nico thought thinking about how confident she normally acted.
“Don’t give me that B.S. I heard Leo talking to the Nurse. She said you had taken away his visitation.” Nico said, his voice getting louder with each word. I might have to take B.S. from the gods, but I don’t have to take it from you. Nico thought, thinking about how sleep deprived Leo had looked.
“You should get dressed, and check out. We can talk then.” Hazel said before crawling out of the bed, and sprinting out of the room. What the Hades is going on. Nico thought as he got up out of bed.
Leo’s POV
“Ow! Could you be a little gentler?” Leo asked. The nurse, who had introduced herself as Cece, was currently sucturing his head wound.
“Can’t you hold still for a couple of seconds?” Cece responded, and Leo realized he had heard that voice somewhere. He had been so focused on Nico he hadn’t really noticed anything else.
“Do I know you from somewhere?” Leo asked, and she let out a small laugh. She put a band-aid on his head.
“You don’t remember me?” She whispered into his ear, and Leo spun around to face her. Leo hated how she still took his breath away, her cinnamon hair, dark almond shaped eyes, and smooth pale skin.
“Calypso.” Leo breathed, his eyes flaming with hatred. Leo realized that the past two weeks he hadn’t thought about her once. I must really like Nico. Leo thought, thinking of the sleepless nights. Calypso stared into his eyes, and placed her hand on his cheek. Dammit she’s beautiful. Leo thought, completely mesmerized. She leaned forward, and pressed her lips to his. Leo’s eyes widened in shock. He had dreamed of her kisses, but not anymore. He thought about how he had spent months finding a way to her island, only for her to be with someone else. He placed his hands on her shoulders, and pushed her off of him. Calypso stared at him in shock, she clearly had not expected to be rejected.
“You lost your chance.” Leo said, then stormed out of the room. It wasn’t until he got outside that he noticed his hands were on fire.
