Burned out (A leico fanfic)

Chapter Three

Leo’s POV

    Leo sat on Piper’s bed, glancing out the window of the Aphrodite cabin. Suddenly, Piper emerged from the closet, wearing a short yellow dress.

    “How about this one?” Piper said, while doing poses in front of Leo. Piper was going on a date with Jason today, and wanted Leo to help her find the “perfect” outfit. Ever since I told her I had a crush on Nico, she thinks I’m suddenly into fashion. Just because I like a guy doesn’t mean I’m “fabulous” Leo thought, clearly annoyed. Secretly he actually enjoyed playing fashion police with Piper. She was his only true friend, and he valued her advice. Leo was snapped out of his trace by a flip-flop hitting his head. “Oye!” Leo said rubbing his head, and looked up at a very angry Piper.

    “Piper you look great in everything. You're the daughter of the freaking goddess of beauty. I mean some of us aren’t so lucky.” Leo said gesturing to himself. While Leo’s father was a literal God with the forge, he was not so hot in the looks department. Leo took pride in thinking that he had overcome genetics. Piper giggled, and patted his curly haired head.

    “You’re not ugly, Leo. A greek goddess fell for you.” Piper said, and instantly put her hand over her mouth. But the damage had already been done. Leo looked like he had just had one nasty enchilada. All the color was drained from his face, and his hands were trembling slightly.

    “Oh my gods, Leo. I’m so sorry.” Piper said sitting down beside him. Piper was the only one who knew about the Calypso  incident, and had spent the entire day after with Leo, the Notebook, tissues, and a box of chocolate. Leo hated to think about Calypso, and today was ten times worse. It was the day he had fallen onto her island. Piper then wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight.

    “So sorry, Leo.” She whispered softly. This is why she is my best friend. That and she has her own copy of the Notebook. Leo thought tears falling out, dampening Piper’s dress.

   

Nico’s POV

        Nico let out a small sigh. He stood in front of the Aphrodite cabin. He had been there for thirty minutes already, but still had not found the courage to knock. He was going to do the most shameful thing a son of Hades could do, ask for gay dating advice. He took a deep breath, and then barged in, not even bothering to knock. Here goes nothing. Nico thought, as he opened the door. He walked in to see Leo and Piper hugging on the bed. Oh my gods are they together. But I thought that Leo was into me...

        “Sorry for interrupting.” Nico said, his face and voice emotionless despite the turmoil of emotion inside “Nico it’s no-” Before Leo could finish, Nico had walked out the door. Nico slammed the door, and leaned his back against it. He heard Leo swore as he tried unsuccessfully to open the door. Nico’s one hand was clutching his chest, right above his heart. Why does my heart hurt? Nico wondered, his eyes wide. Nico had spent most of his life being in love with Percy Jackson. He couldn’t imagine falling in love with anyone else. There is no way I’m in love with Leo Valdez. I’m just surprised… Yeah that’s all it is, we are friends nothing more nothing less.

        “Are you ok?” someone said, and Nico was knocked out of his trace. He looked up to see Jason Grace staring down at him, flowers in hand. He’s clearly hear for a date with Piper. I should tell him about what I saw.

        “I just saw Leo and Piper together, so prepare yourself.” Nico said stepping away from the door. Wouldn’t want you to get conveniently knocked out when the action starts. Nico thought smirking to himself. Jason let out a laugh, and ruffled Nico’s hair

        “I think you got the wrong idea kid, but I’ll go check it out.” Jason said before pulling the door open and walking inside. I hate how he treats me like a little kid. Nico realized that Leo would want to talk to him, and quickly disappeared. Leaving no trace of the confused boy who still needed advice.
