Jessie tried her hardest not to compare Lana and Quinn. She was pretty sure that she meant what she had said to Lana earlier. But a part of her kept thinking that she was reasoning away anything that she felt for Lana out of fear. And that fear was very real. Jessie couldn't help but notice that Lana wasn't exactly convincing when they talked about just being friends. It was all just so confusing that Jessie was content to just let it go and try being with Quinn. It was obvious to her now that Quinn wanted to date her and well, Jessie thought Quinn was damn near perfect. She was sweet and sensitive and funny as hell. So what if she was attracted to her best friend. She would get over it quickly once her and Quinn started dating. Jessie summed it up to just being single for far too long. She subconsciously walked to Quinn's place while taking a walk and noticed as she stood at her door. She sighed heavily and walked to knock on Quinn's door. Quinn grinned as she opened the door and realized who it was.
"Hey there. What are you doing here?" Quinn asked as she leaned against her open door and raised her eyebrow curiously.
"I was just walking about and found myself here. So I figured I would stop and see if you had dinner plans." Jessie said with a half smile. Suddenly she was unsure of herself. Like she had no control over the situation and she barely knew the girl.
"Um. I don't think I have dinner plans just yet." Quinn said with a smile. "What were you thinking?"
"I hadn't really gotten that far just yet." Jessie laughed nervously. "Part of me swore you would refuse me." Quinn frowned.
"I could never say no to a night with you. I love spending time with you. And I have to admit that your beauty helps the transition from friend." She laughed softly. Jessie laughed along.
"How about we grab some pizza. I know a great parlor down the road. They have awesome pepperoni pizza that most college kids live off of." She smiled.
"Just let me grab my purse." She said and dissapeared into the house and Jessie nervously looked around the trees surrounding her house. She couldn't help but be surprised that such a place could exist inside city limits. Her house was made of red brick and had beautiful tall and slender windows that seemed perfect for painting. Jessie had always loved to paint. She found that the more she tried to focus on school, the less she was able to do what she really loved. People always told her that she should just go to school for art but Jessie felt that making something she loved into something that she had to do would just completely ruin it for her. So she painted on the side and worked hard in school. She admired the dark green vines that were scattered about the face of the building. Jessie also noticed the beautiful garden next to the small porch she stood on. It had lilacs in it which made Quinn's house remind her of her mother. Her mother would always plant lilacs in the summer time and Jessie would help her. The memory made her smile just as Quinn walked out of the house and shut the door behind her.
"All ready?" Jessie asked with a smile. Quinn nodded and Jessie reached her hand out to link their fingers together as they began to walk down the road. "So. How are your classes going?" Jessie asked as they crossed the road.
"My classes are fine I guess. I just can't seem to grasp anything in my math class. It's just all a bunch of nonsense to me. I swear sometimes that they make that stuff up." Jessie laughed and got a chill as Quinn began to rub her thumb against the inside of her palm. There was something infinitely intimate about holding hands with Quinn. A sort of intimacy that spoke volumes on the kind of girl that Quinn was. Jessie had a sudden impression that maybe Quinn wasn't very experienced with women. Which surprised the hell out of Jessie because Quinn was extremely desirable. But she also exuded this incredibly appealing innocence. Most lesbians would run away at the sign of innocence. Not because of the lack of sex, just because they are more likely to become attached to that special someone that they lose it to. Jessie took a deep breath. She was assuming way too much. She was out on a first date with a sexy, intelligent woman. She should focus on making the date unforgettable.
