Jessie smiled as she spotted Anna standing by the new bulletin board in the dorm.

"Hey Anna!" She yelled while walking towards her. Anna looked over and smiled as she noticed who it was. "What the heck are you doing reading the bulletin board? You never seemed like the kind of person to get involved in school activities." Anna laughed as Jessie finally reached her.

"I will have you know that I was captain of my rowing team in high school." She smiled sweetly.

"Oh. Wow. Impressive. You can kind of tell with your big manly arms you lug around." She laughed as Anna softly punched her in the arm.

"So are you ready to go?" Anna asked as she motioned to the door. Jessie thought a moment.

"Yeah I think I have everything I need." She said and motioned to her book bag on her back. Anna nodded.

"Alright. We better hurry. Heard another storm is coming." She grinned and followed Anna to her car. She couldn't help but laugh about how much the car Anna had did not fit her personality at all. She drove a baby blue Volkswagen beetle. Anna frowned and seemed to read her mind when she said "It was a gift. From my very religious mother." She smiled and unlocked the doors so they could get in. Anna turned the ignition and some sort of heavy metal blared out of the stereo. Jessie cringed and Anna quickly turned it down. "Not your cup of tea I am guessing?" She smiled at Jessie.

"Not exactly. I am more into country and pop. You know. People like Toby Keith and Miranda Lambert." She frowned as the music continued to play. Anna reached into her cd holder in her visor and grabbed another cd. She took the current cd out and replaced it with the one in her hand. Garth Brooks music poured into the car and Jessie couldn't help but smile. " Somehow I think that this music choice isn't a selfish thing. Do you have different kinds of music because of the different women you have in your car?" Anna laughed at the question.

"No. I happen to like country music from time to time. I just prefer Metallica." Jessie spotted Anna out her window.

"Hey pull over for a second." It took her a moment to recognize the girl she was with as Quinn. She frowned. "Lana! Hey what are you up to?" She yelled out the window as they pulled next to them. "Hey Quinn." A look of guilt crossed over Lana's face and Jessie caught it right away. Her smile faded.

"We were just shopping together. I have a date tomorrow night and I needed a new dress." Lana's face had a slight look of panic on it. Jessie frowned at Lana. Jessie turned to Anna.

"Can I get just a minute?" She asked and Anna nodded as she put the car in park. Jessie hopped out and approached Lana. "So you have a date huh? Who's the lucky girl." Lana seemed to stumble on her words.

"Just some girl from my Lit class." She said as she fumbled with her keys in her hand. "Stop looking at me like I am some sort of criminal, Jessie. I haven't done anything wrong." She said with a minute of confidence. Jessie didn't believe her. She gently grabbed her arm and pulled her away from Quinn and off to the side.

"What's going on here Lana? You have never been much of a liar." She frowned as soon as they were out of earshot of Anna and Quinn. Lana cringed.

"It's not what you think Jessie." She said as she reached for Jessie's hand. Jessie pulled her hand away from Lana's with a look of disdain.

"What is it I think Lana?" Lana seemed to think it over for a second.

"I haven't slept with her." She said with pleading eyes. Jessie studied her for a moment.

"You say that like you were planning on it." Jessie said trying to keep her voice down. Lana bit her lower lip. Jessie face seemed to soften. Too much so. She looked like she was about to cry. "Listen to me. And you better listen good. In high school when you slept with my girlfriend I forgave you. You swore to me you would never do that ever again. You swore on our friendship. I thought I meant more to you!" She took a breath and whispered. "I hope it was worth it Lana. I hope that whatever you have with her is worth it!" She said in anger.

"It's not even like that Jessie! She said you two weren't together! She said you were just seeing how it went. I wouldn't have done anything if I knew you had feelings for her. Jesus. You don't even talk to me about girls anymore. It's like I have been replaced by Anna. Is that what this is? You just got a better model?" She asked keeping her volume just barely in check.

"Come to my dorm tonight at 9. I am not going to discuss this right now." She said with a slight snarl. Lana nodded. Jessie turned and placed a fake smile on her face as she approached Anna's car. As she got in Anna frowned at her.

"I can see the fakeness in that smile a mile away love." She said with a look of concern.

"Let's just not talk about it. Can we just go and have some fun?" She said with pleading eyes. Anna seemed to understand as she drove to the docks in silence. Silent tears fell from Jessie's eyes the whole way.
